  1. Didn't they just pump a bunch of money into the high school?
  2. A coach and his staff saying they are "pleased" is a polite way of saying "Thanks for coming, we appreciate your donation to the program." If anyone interprets that to mean you're on our recruiting board or we'll be in touch then I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona I can sell you. I'm all for building people up. Say he had a nice camp. Just don't base it on a 40 time that isn't fast and then get upset when someone states the obvious.
  3. Each and every day. You want to pat every kid who runs a 4.6 on the back, go ahead. It's not a fast time for a D1 prospect that weighs 160. If you want to argue that then you don't know much about the recruiting process. I pulled up the results from the opening for 3 different locations and they had 47, 48, and 70 kids at those camps that were 4.6 or better. If we congratulated every kid in Kentucky who ran a 4.6 we'd keep this board full of "Great job little Jonnie. Here's your participation trophy."
  4. That doesn't make any sense, but I guess it makes you feel better. I'm good though. I watch plenty of teams with fast kids.
  5. The best thing about a 4.6 is it's faster than a 4.7. But it's not that fast in the grand scheme of things. Doesn't mean the kid isn't a great high school football player and won't be able to play in college, but it's not exactly a noteworthy time.
  6. You can never have enough individual drill time with your players in my opinion. Spring practice is a good time to start getting your guys ready for summer practice and seeing some of the results from your winter weight program. It's also a great time to evaluate potential backups if you have starters missing and give kids some extra TLC they might not get during the season.
  7. You might want to chill out, be a little less defensive, and check out the talent across the state that you're competing against. And I'm not apologizing for anything. Saying kids don't have the same God given talent as others do is part of life. Some schools work hard to be .500 and are maximizing their talent. That's the boat GRC is currently in.
  8. I'm not trouncing anyone. I never said anyone didn't work hard or anything negative about the program. I wish them well. You either have talent or you don't. I don't think they have the necessary talent to consistently compete in 6A. That's all. The majority of schools across Kentucky are in the same boat. It just gets magnified more in 6A because you can't schedule as many winnable games like you can in some of the lower classes. I wish GRC well.
  9. I'm going to have to disagree with that statement.
  10. But not enough to compete at a high level in 6A. We played them before. They had 4 or 5 guys that made you say "Wow" but there was a big drop off after that. They need several good classes in a row to be able to consistently compete with the Lexington schools.
  11. They don't have a ton of talent and have horrible facilities. Give the guy time to get it turned around.
  12. It's all about way the county has grown and the district lines are drawn. The last bit of talent Boone had was sucked dry when Cooper opened. Now it's basically a Florence school.
  13. I'm pretty sure that's what the previous coach was doing and he was run out by the parents.
  14. KY has a list of schools that they accept degrees from on the EPSB website.
  15. Agreed. And I'm not talking about him specifically. In a lot of cases your film is only as good as your surrounding cast. It's easier to compare people when you're all going against the same talent.
  16. You can say what you want, but pulling kids in early for private workouts and only inviting kids from that group stinks. Why have a camp if you aren't going to pick the top performing guys at the camp? The same thing goes with all the other positions, not just QB's.
  17. E11 has become much more political this year. UK commit Mac Jones didn't even make the final group at the event he attended in Florida. He won a rivals competition and was suddenly worthy. You have to have Power 5 offers to be considered worthy. Also of note, Elite 11 had Clifford and some other highly ranked guys in that morning for a private workout. No one outside that group received a golden ticket. So I think we can give up on the notion that the Elite 11 is objective.
  18. Stephens was successful at Casey County but flopped big time at Pulaski SW. Sounds like the kids concerns could have some merit.
