Someone started this thread to get the results it's getting...Mayfield is #1 and the top 1A team in the state until proven otherwise and every "true" BW fan knows and agrees with this. I hope like heck BW is warming up on the field in Ft Mitchell in four weeks...if so, that means we took care of business...I personally couldn't care less who is warming up on the other end of the field. Does BW want a rematch with Mayfield? you betcha! After two Championship's in a row, BW came to Mayfield over-confident and got their butts handed to'em...the ease of that game may have also been what got the Card's whipped by LCA...one thing for sure, BW still feels the sting, has that bad taste, and ya woke'em up...they may not make it all the way, but I can promise it won't because of over-confidence... Vocke is special and without a doubt BW's 1st option, however, after his first 2 TD's, NCC slowed him down...the offense put up an additional 25pts by 4 different players...so although he's very good, he's not the only option.

Heard from BW player in position to know. The FG was "good" by about a 1/2 yard.

She will be a 3 (possibly 4 depending where she chooses) at the next level. I'm one of her biggest fans and I've been preaching to her that she needs to fall in love with playing on the defensive end of the floor also. She has always been the most athletic player on the floor at the AAU/HS level, but that won't always be the case at the next level because she'll be playing with kids 3-4yrs older. If she doesn't commit to defense with 2 more years under her current coach...she never will WVF...PM me with your email address (I lost it) and I will shoot you some info.

I don't think I can ever remember a potential college recruit playing JV his/her junior season whether they play in the V games or not. Either this team is "extremely" loaded or the coaching is very poor because 1) they cut a college recruit stating "lack of skillset" and 2) they played a college recruit in JV games risking injury to a key player. SS...no matter what, there's way more to this story that is not being shared either with you or with us and without hearing from the "other side" there's no way for this board to share advice. Something tells me if we hear the other side we would have that "ah ha" moment. Please understand the skepticism/confusion...many of us have followed Girl's basketball in KY for many years and have never seen a college athlete get cut from her HS team for "lack of skillset" nor have we seen a team so loaded they have the luxury of cutting a college bound player. In either case, we are either talking about the KY State Champions this season OR a soon to be fired coach!

You might be correct, but I don't thnik he played. I thought his shoulder recovered and he was finally released to play...and then tore his ACL in practice 3 days later...before his 1st game.

Move NCC to 5...NDA & SH to 3 & 4. I could see it staying like this, or close, till the end of the season...then the favorite always changes come March

When I commented "no" injuries I should have clarified. Those 2 would have brought some beef (and experience) to the line, however, my comment was based on the fact niether have played a snap this season.

I would schedule a meeting with the coach and the AD to find out if there is more to the story...if a kid is getting recruited by multiple colleges it's hard to imagine any team is good enough to cut a player for "lack of skill-set"... I agree with the above comment about only playing JV her junior year...she must have had a great summer to now be getting recruited by 15 colleges. I know this won't help you now, but if she can play, she'll be okay.

I personally think it hurts bigtime because they don't get a real chance to fix things that were exposed during the 1st few games of the season. Next year may be a bit better now that BB and WV are moving...knowing how Rash likes to schedule, I'm sure these games will, or have been, replaced with 2 really competitive opponents. A big difference I have noticed...this time last season BW had double-digit injured/banged-up player's (crutches/casts/slings)and as far as I can tell there are none at this point (knocking on wood).

Wrong...just watched the game again...starting line came out after the fumble recovery/runback during WV's 1st series in the 2nd half. However, you are right, doesn't matter. Good luck to all the district teams...do some damage.

It's showing our age. My kids just cannot understand when I ask "how can kids be best of friends and hang out with your rivals and then have that "kick-their-butt" mentality when you play'em. We hated our rivals and wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with them. In today's world, they beat the crap out of each other on Friday night and they are "Facebook friends" by Saturday...Good Golly! Man, the world has changed.

Congrat's. Marquette's starting big girl (Soph) transferred unexpectedly...did that play a factor in the decision?

I agree. I feel like my prediction was being somewhat conservative, but I expect Walton to call off the dogs late 3rd/early 4th and Dayton will punch in a late TD.

Not being familiar with that geographical area at all...are there any choices (w/highly competitive athletcis) for a kid if the family prefers a different, perhaps better, option?

I just think Boone, Conner, Campbell, and Newport are beatable this year. With they run the table, doubtful, but could they, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility or being overly optimistic.
