You are correct...that made it 48-6...after that TD, the entire BW "D" line, and some secondary, came out the remainder of the game. The 1st WV TD was setup by the "1" long pass and a blown coverage...after that drive, there was never another threat on the BW 1st team "D".

If I read correctly, WV has given up an average of 22pts per game so far and have scored roughly 24pts per game. My guess is they will have to do a lot more than that to hang in there.

Well it's probably safe to say they will look dramatically different since the start of the season...on both sides of the ball, if you take their schedule into consideration. The Wing T may have looked dramatically better as well considering their schedule. I'd say you can count on the Beechies scoring some points

Without a doubt it could have happened on Friday night, but no way BW would demoralized them...nothing to gain.

No time to go through this whole string so this cliche may have already been said; however, if parants are out of control you can pretty much believe "the apple rarely falls far from the tree".

They also learned how a few stupid penalties can quickly change a 2 score margin into a nail biter. Agree on all points...plus, from a BW perspective, the BW player's quickly learned how turnover's can turn a game around from a potential "nail in the coffin" to "leaving the door open" for a good team to take advantage of. All in all, the atmosphere was the definition of "friday night lights". Good luck the rest of the way!

I said it last week and I'll say it again...I am very disappointed that Beechwood did not win this game. Several people predicted 2-5 TD margin of victory, CC can name the score, but now "a W is a W"...come on, please! I, for one, came away scratching my head because now I wonder 'is BW getting better OR is CC slightly overrated OR was this just such an emotional game that it's hard to take anything concrete away from it OR perhaps all of the above'. Very emotional game with a great crowd and it was fun to be a part of it.

I will also be very disappointed to see BW lose to CC by any margin. However, it certainly takes a lot of pressure off knowing the outcome has already been pre-determined

I "think" that was the Dixie game. I don't think the backup took a snap during the HHS blowout. I'm not so sure there will be another chance, VoR. After Friday, there won't be high-level competition like BW has seen each week until the final game of the season. At that point, it will probably be too late to insert an unseasoned QB, but, I'm just an observer and you seem much more up-to-speed on the whole BW situation--so you are probably right.

Agreed! The Line is not getting to the QB, but so far, the QB's are able to get rid of the ball pretty quickly. IMO, we won't know if/how things have improved until the NCC game.

I couldn't care less what you bring up from the past...just don't "cherry pick" a ridiculous comment from one person and make it appear as a blanket statement from all the BW faithful.

The people that truly know, or have a few years of NKY wisdon, would never say that so pls don't cherry pick comments to toss gas on a fire. Most of us knew it wasn't realisitc to think BW would be the same team and we "all" knew that HHS would have a boatload of "new" faces...it is what it is! There's a small handful of athletes (4-5) that are no longer around that were once counted on to make this BW team better, but, a small program with 35+ player's must adjust to the hand they are dealt practically from week-to-week (injuries) as opposed to dealing a "new" hand at programs like Highlands. No matter what the score ends up being...BW will compete hard and if they walk away with no bad injuries...they win!

I misunderstood your point...I am not a fan of AAU as an organization "at all". I "assumed" you were talking about off-season/summer ball as a whole and therefore I completely disagreed. AAU is an acronym that is most used and equated to Summer ball. I'm a huge fan of college exposure tourney's "only" for getting recruited...along with a couple of smaller tune-up tourney's to prepare for the big one's. I agree, there are 3-4 that are great and all a player needs.

In the end, it was a scrimmage and means "zero"; however, 1) pretty much every combination Conner used was not very effective on either side of the ball 2) I highly doubt the Conner team/coaches have worked their butts off all off-season to get to this point and waste the opportunity by only letting the 1's play 4 or 5 plays (makes no sense) 3) Conner may be inexperienced, but not that young 4) Conner has an excellent coaching staff and the team will without a doubt learn and grow each and every week! In a nutshell, IMO, BW had a better showing in this scrimmage, but you can bet that neither team ended the game completely happy with where they are at this point. Good luck to both teams!

Shock...you are absolutely 100% correct...playing in front of literally 100's of scouts is a huge advantage and a "must". A college coach will tell you in a heartbeat "I will spend my budget to come to a HS game to WOO a player that I've scouted and want, but why would I spend my limited budget/time to watch 1 player at 1 mediocre game versus going to exposure tourney's and seeing 100's of players competing at the highest level". SMP...No one is saying you shouldn't work on skills in a gym 4-5 days per week...that's a no-brainer! But, getting the highest exposure during the limited summer weekends in front of college coaches...also a no-brainer.
