SC too big for Boone in a half-court game...and...Boone too fast for SC to press. SC guards closer to 6' and BC's closer to 5'...some real mis-matches if SC gets their guards down low. Boone "MUST" hit perimeter shots to take some pressure off of Moss because she will get banged around in this game...SC has no answer for her 1-on-1, but not many teams do...

Once BG's press was ineffective...they were in trouble...they had Sandlin and Moss gassed midway threw the 2nd, but pulled out of it (still very close game at the time)...not sure why, but that really helped Boone. Congrat's Rebels.

Just curious...If a player legally resides in the district, enrolls as a freshman, and it's approved by the BOE (No KHSAA approval is required)...do you still consider the kid a transfer?

Absolutely agree with the first part. Geez...are you saying that if/when a kid transfers to another school (any school)...regardless of talent...that a coach should not let them on the team? can you put your biased opinion to rest for a second and tell me that if you were a coach (you may be)...that you would tell a kid that since they haven't lived in this district since birth, elementary school, middle school, HS, or whatever..."sorry, you cannot play for this program". Are you serious? If you can name one single coach that would tell "any" of the kids being "called-out" on this board that they are not welcome in their program. I will quit defending them...just make sure if they tell you they wouldn't be allowed on their team...you step out of the way so you don't get poked in the eye by their growing nose.

See BP...I need to bow out of this discussion becuase I wasn't paying attention...I thought the first shot was a Crittenden 3pt attempt and the long rebound went to Jump who threw up a wild shot from the wing with 12 seconds left on the clock...from that point things got too crazy! On the Crittenden "sideline" call...I thought that the ref blew the whistle because "she" (not the ball) went out of bounds and didn't establish her feet back in bounds when she started dribbling again...see, I gotta get out of this discussion...it's old news now!

Not sure...given they were in it from the tip, while Jenna was on the bench, and until they needed the ball at the end...tells me they were mostly concerned about Moss. Yes, that missed layup was Huge...bottom line, they had their chance to win in all 3 games...so they were doing something right.

Been around this thing for a while and still have a vested interest for a little while longer...I venture to guess not everyone on here has a child actively playing on a team; however, I may be wrong so feel free to correct me. Last time I checked, big fellow...adult..., I wasn't required to have an active player when BGP's accepted my payment. I actually give quite a bit of credit to Kim for my Daughter's career...

Was she a great coach OR was there a lot of senior leadership and talent on a couple of those teams? As far as being fired, let go , or whatever...sometimes what goes around comes around!

Sandlin only had 3 assists for the game...she did great getting the ball inside, but Moss goes and gets a ton of balls off misses while the defense is watching. Sandlin's strength yesterday was controlling the floor, taking away the ability for Ryle to press, and absolutely shutting down Jump...again!

Sandlin was wonderful. She was poised and in control. No one happier for her than her mentor for the past 3yrs years on and off the floor. Moss was the difference. She draws so much attention that it makes the game easier for her teammates. She's a go-to player that Ryle just didn't utilize properly thus no one was happy...Boone would be mediocre without her and Sandlin wouldn't have half the assists she has...Syd is a great fit and exactly where she belongs... I for one do not understand why Ryle sits in a 2/3 zone...of course, the game will always stay close, but to me it shows lack of confidence in your player's to man-up...IMO, Ryle is too good and way to athletic to not play in-your-face "D". Boone has 1 ball handler and 1 go-to player so sitting in a zone for 4qtrs allows Boone to stay rested and out of foul trouble...I know Chris (Asst Coach) and it's not usually his style, but perhaps he's changed or has little input.

I predict another 33rd title

Headed out-of-town this afternoon so I want to wish a huge "Good luck" to the Lady Rebels......This will be the first region I've missed in several years, but, I'm there in spirit. I fully expect them to cut down the nets again this year...If it's a Ryle/Boone match-up...Ryle can't play man-to-man and their press is ineffective against Boone so they will surely open up with that 2/3 zone in order to "try" to contain Moss...the guards will have to shoot'em out of it and mak'em man-up. The odds are in favor of another 33rd team winning the region...if so, that's 5 of the last 7...pretty strong!

What??? I agreed with paNDA that she looked to score everytime she touched the ball and I get scolded...goodness, I gotta buy a camera! Shooters shoot...and have no conscious.

It was a very good first 6 or so minutes and then everything seemed to change when Ryle stood at half-court and dribbled off the last minute+...quarters 2-4 were the worst I've seen all year, but I've only seen a handful. Ryle 1pt in the 3rd and NCC 5pts in the 4th (not good)...and it wasn't the defense! The shots weren't coming from the right player's for NCC in the 4th qtr...and besides Sandfoss, there were only 3 field goals combined by the other starters. Tabor played very solid defense on Crittenden, but, Jenna found other ways to make an impact, which good players do, as did Tabor. The big game from the unexpected player for NCC just didn't happen as I personally thought would be needed (and hoped for). Sandfoss played solid "D", scored, and spread the ball around very well...she was "clearly" the best player on the floor.

I completely agree...everytime she touched the ball.

I wanted to attend last night, but the outcomes were pretty much no doubt and someone was already taking pictures My guess is there will be a decent crowd for the NCC/Ryle game and then another good crowd for the championship game...especially with back-to-back championship games, if I read correctly?

Gosh Oldguy...I was hoping to be able to pull up your post from one year ago...you made the exact comment last year after the Boone/Ludlow game. I told ya then "they seem to always play to the level of their competition". You took a couple of more shots at them, but in the end, it worked out okay. It can be frustrating, but it is what it is.
