Better crowd for the Villa NDA game but it was about what I expected at the Boone Bellevue game.

 

 

 

 

Congrats to Boone but also congrats to the girls from Bellevue, they had nothing to do with the blind draw but they came out and played hard throughout this contest. Pretty clear they were happy to be on the big floor at the BOK.

No bands tonight, small crowd and the kids love playing at the BOK. Who wouldn't, it is a grand arena. As the games progress the crowds increase and by the finals it is an amazing atmosphere.

I have mixed feeling on Bellevue playing in the Region.

 

As was stated, they work hard and do want to win, but where is the community support for their girls?

 

Maybe five students other than the Mom's and Dad's and I really mean it! I highly doubt if they had anyone else there to see or root them on.

 

So is the administration choosing to vote every year for the draw in the 36th in the hope of having a chance to go to the Region for the Community to enjoy the ride, or it is just a way to keep one of the teams on the Hill out of it? :idunno:

 

Look at the Villa crowd and students! They earned the right to attend and even down 12/14 points they cheered, screamed, rooted and had a ball.

 

To me at least, it has always made me feel better to earn something, rather than to be given to me!

Gosh Oldguy...I was hoping to be able to pull up your post from one year ago...you made the exact comment last year after the Boone/Ludlow game. I told ya then "they seem to always play to the level of their competition". You took a couple of more shots at them, but in the end, it worked out okay.

 

It can be frustrating, but it is what it is.

I wanted to attend last night, but the outcomes were pretty much no doubt and someone was already taking pictures

 

My guess is there will be a decent crowd for the NCC/Ryle game and then another good crowd for the championship game...especially with back-to-back championship games, if I read correctly?

Congrats to Coach Sorrell and the Tigers. While the community didn't show to support the team, the girls will remember playing in BoK for the rest of their lives. While I don't necessarily agree with the blind draw, the opportunity to play in a college facility and be a part of the regional tournament will stay with those girls forever.
