ckshockey Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Today's Shockey shocker.....any other details?Ha, ha! Not really any more info. I can't reveal my source. I will say this, she was a heck of a coach and had a great playing and coaching career at Conner.
Crunch-time Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 from what I have heard from parents there have been grumblings for the past couple of weeks. One of the players quit right after their District game against Ryle. Season or tourney?
FRONT OF THE RIM Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 from what I have heard from parents there have been grumblings for the past couple of weeks. One of the players quit right after their District game against Ryle. What a shock that parents and players would be involved. Again probably a case of the tail wagging the dog.
Sonny Crockett Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Coach Warfield had a good run at Conner and coached a pretty good team which no one picked to do anything to the 9th Region Championship. Best wishes to Coach Warfield!
msc1492 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Any thoughts on who might have the inside track on filling the position?
nkyvbfan Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 She is leaving a talented group of sophomores behind.
BigDP Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 What a shock that parents and players would be involved. Again probably a case of the tail wagging the dog. 100% agree!! Remember the good ole' days when the coach would coach and the players played? Ahh, and the parents.... they stayed out of it and had no influence? I hope this isn't the case, however...... Kind of reminds me of what happened at NCC and the influence of parents on the administration within the girls program.
Clyde Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 100% agree!! Remember the good ole' days when the coach would coach and the players played? Ahh, and the parents.... they stayed out of it and had no influence? . I think like a lot of us "older" folks we are not properly remembering the good old days. I was in high school in the late 70s early 80s and parents were a problem then as well. Ask Kim Warfield's dad.
retropop Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 That's too bad. Coach Warfield's teams played a sound, competitive and hard-nosed brand of basketball. Best of luck to Coach Warfield, and also to the girls who will return. She will be missed.
