I graduated in 1976 and it was as much of a problem then as it is today. I disagree with a lot of coaching decisions but that doesn't make me right, just opinionated. Most of my coaching opinions are kept to myself. I don't know any of the issues within the program at Conner and I don't know if it was Coach Warfield's decision or the administration. When i was playing we had players playing because of their parents standing within the school community. I'm sure that this still happens today. I'm just glad my niece is as talented as she is so I don't have to deal with those issues. (whose is starting, how much playing time, etc.)

from What I have heard from parents there have been grumblings for the past couple of weeks. One of the players quit right after their District game against Ryle.

Maybe, but not nearly to the extent they are today. Ask Kim's dad if he lost his job because of them. I firmly believe administrations don't support coaches, or teachers for that matter, like they did in the "Good Old Days".

This would be beyond outrageous.

I would be surprised to see that a board member has that much influence in a district as big as Boone's. I can see it happening in a small, independent district or even a private school, but not in a district where 95% of the citizens couldn't even tell you an elected board member's name.

If the "outside" only knew what went on with the "inside." I'm just say'in.

Michelle Cottrell (sp?) is only one of the best players to come out of the Boone Co. girls basketball program and then #1 player in the history of NKU womens basketball and led the NKU womens team to a National Title. If I'm not incorrect, I believe she got Division II National Player of the Year when she was a senior at NKU. Who wouldn't want Cottrell as their head coach? But I have no idea if she is interested.
