I would be surprised to see that a board member has that much influence in a district as big as Boone's. I can see it happening in a small, independent district or even a private school, but not in a district where 95% of the citizens couldn't even tell you an elected board member's name.

Not only does playing one sport year round lead to burn-out, but also more injuries. Overuse of the same muscles causes many more sports-related injuries than playing different sports throughout the year. Great if you are in the sports medicine field, but really hard on young bodies.
