Coach Warfield out at Conner

Featured Replies

Any word here? It seems to be dragging on forever. If anyone wonders why Boone County and Ryle has a stronger program, they can look right here. Both of those schools would have had this settled by now.

When did they win a regional title?

They haven't. (I know that is your point.)

The coaching position was posted on the Board of Education web site yesterday, I believe.

When did they win a regional title?

The same year the won the district.

The same year the won the district.

No dog in this fight but, just for information, here is how the Ninth Region titles have gone since 2000, in reverse order:

2010 Boone County, R/U Ryle

2009 Boone County, R/U New Cath

2008 Conner, R/U Notre Dame

2007 Noter Dame, R/U Holmes

2006 Boone County, R/U Notre Dame

2005 New Cath, R/U Boone County

2004 Boone County, R/U New Cath

2003 New Cath, R/U Boone County

2002 Holmes, R/U Highlands

2001 Highlands, R/U Boone County

2000 Highlands, R/U Holmes

Total Titles:

Boone County - 4 (plus 3 R/U's)

New Cath - 2 (plus 2 R/U's)

Highlands - 2 (Plus 1 R/U)

Conner - 1

Notre Dame - 1 (Plus 2 R/U's)

Holmes - 1 (plus 2 R/U's)

The same year the won the district.

Has anyone heard any names being mentioned with this job. I will continue to say that Stamm from Ludlow would be perfect for this job.

His name has been mentioned.

Is it going to be a requirement that the head coach also teach at Conner?

:thumb:Good to hear. They would get a guy who works hard and knows how to get along with both parents and administrators. I think it would be nice to see how Stamm would do with far more talent on a yearly basis than he has each year in Ludlow and also have the opportunity to take his team to various tournaments around the state that they may get invited to. This is something that they don't allow at Ludlow for whatever reason.

They probably have a rule about the head coach being a certified teacher.

Having a certified teacher in the building would be ideal, but I do not think it is a requirement.

sure, it's ideal to have a certified teacher as a coach, but there are many schools that have coaches who are not certified teachers and even schools who have certified teachers who do not even teach at that particular school as their coach. Best situation all around --- certified teacher who teaches at the school where they coach.

I believe that the rule saying that a head coach has to be a teacher is no longer in effect as of a month or so ago.

I also feel like Conner isn't married to the idea of having a teacher in the building either.

The last head coach wasn't a teacher in the building ... so I doubt that it matters that much.

I think that this one gets really interesting. I think that it will be a super surprising name that no one is thinking about right now.

Ben Coffman may come back. He was a legend at Boone
