There is no doubt that Beechwood is a familar foe to many in Eastern, Central, and other parts of KY when it comes to deeper parts of the playoffs and title game.

 

The reason I'm saying to beware is due to the state's Class A rankings on here and possibly on others. After seeing the way they played Newport Catholic last night, they are very alive and well in regards to being in the hunt for another title.

 

Do not be deceived by their size, they are definitely smaller than past teams, particularly their linemen, but they make up for it with their athleticism and speed.

 

Their offense is well balanced like always, while they may be underestimated defensively.

 

One more thing, there is a runningback on the team that may be one of their more talented that I have seen in a long time, his name is Volke. This kid heavily impressed me and I believe that it's fair to say that he could be a multi-threat to many after seeing his performance. I am surprised that I have not heard more about him on here. He is talented to say in the least.

While I am a little surprised by tonight's outcome, it's only because I think NewCath is that good.

 

I've never wavered on Beechwood, and I'm pretty sure I said when we in NKY were still seeing high's in the lower 90's that Beechwood will be just fine once class A opponents start appearing on the schedule. I'd pick them against any class A team in the state the next five weeks and feel pretty good about my chances every week. After tonight, I'd pick them a lot in AA the next five weeks and feel okay.

I agree totally. This is not a team to be taken lightly.

The Rankings are what they are....B-Wood is King of Class A football!

Everyone in the state knows Beechwood. You would have to be blind and deaf or just not a football fan not to know what Beechwood has done in this great state over the past 25/30 years!!

Now there is a team out west that thinks nobody in the state has a chance to lose this season. And alot already are wearing the crown!! But that can be a good thing. But you are right. Always beware of Beechwood. The schedule they play is #1. No doubt!! While some of the top 1A schools in the state maybe ranked about 30th in 1A strength of schedules!!

All year I've had Mayfield #1. They don't play a very tough out of district schedule. But they are IMO very very good. But I've also said all year beware of Beechwood!! Better then their record!!

Someone better tell the Mayfield police about this statement because Mayfield has already declared themselves 1A State Champs !!!! Never seen a fan base so cocky and confident in my life ! But , they will say it is "confidence" or they have "earned" it or they are "hated by many but respected by all" or something like that ....

Shhhhh!!!! Dag gone it. Why are you starting this thread? Beechwood has been up here just minding our own business and working hard every day. Who cares about polls? Who cares about no recognition on here? Couldn't you just let us go on about our way and let everyone else glorify themselves? Remember everyone, even the guru says Beechwood is slipping. So pay no attention to this thread. Move on to better things. Didn't Mayfield beat the heck out of 3A team this week? Find that thread. Much more interesting and informative than this one.

After seeing the Tigers last night, they are indeed a legit threat for the state title and although I haven't seen Mayfield this year, I'd like the Tigers chances against them and anyone else in 1A.

Come on snake .. I was in Mayfield last week ... and personally observed the 2010 Class State Championship trophy on the sidelines.

This Mayfield team is easily the best team in the history of Class A football.

We already know that you are going to come up here and beat Beechwood and everyone else in your way.

The Mayfield fans have nothing but the utmost respect for the Tigers and there program, I assure you. Alot of ball to be played between now and Thanksgiving weekend to even be thinking about that possible matchup. Alot of things can happen between now and then, but, if they do happen to meet up, I'm sure it'll be a great game between 2 highly successful and tradition rich programs. I hope the game between Mayfield and BW happens, I have really enjoyed every single meeting between the two schools on the football field. Heck Vock has been looking so good maybe we can get the Bw coach to hold him out the Mayfield game and save him up for Hazard in the title game. Just a thought, but it just seems unfair that Bw get to use a player that is so superior to all others on the field. IBeechnuts is it a fair statement to proclaim hin the 1A player of the year?
