Class A KY, beware of Beechwood (except NKY due to already knowing)

Well I look forward to the game if it happens even if we have to play against Vock. As I have said before, I have really enjoyed every single game between the two schools. So quickie is he the 1A player of the year???

Nope .. I was in Mayfield just a week or so ago ... and noticed #9 carrying that trophy around. But ... I was hoping that you would let us borrow it for a few weeks?

Guess you didn't pay to close attention, #9 is injured. Hurt that same ankle he broke earlier

Same type thread came out right after the regular season last year, imagine that. Just sayin' :idunno:

I don't recall a thread like this one last year. Since NCC beat them last season no one knew what to expect heading into the playoff's. If you have "proof" of last years thread then I'll eat crow.

I think BW is more prepared, and healthier, than this time last year and they know their identity, but no way a true BW fan is arrogant enough to start this thread. NCC was a great "W" for this team and has proven what most of us "thought"...they can play pretty good football.

The difference in the NCC game was I think the Breds took BW lightly and got punched in the mouth early and spent the rest of the game trying to recover...similar to what Mayfield did to BW last year...punched'em in the mouth early and they spent the rest of the night dazed and never recovered.

Good post Crunch.

The person that started this thread was possibly more of a NCC fan (but I am not even certain about that).

It was definitely not a Beechwood fan.

I think if you also look around at other message boards (where more Mayfield fans tend to reside) ... you will see what Mayfield really thinks of everyone. Conversely ... you aren't going to see many "real" Beechwood fans post anywhere.

It is what it is .... Mayfield has been around the block before. They are number one until someone proves otherwise.

Crunch I think the thread he is speaking of last year was likely started by a non BW or a kid that is just use to BW's winning ways. Mayfield was not likely 38 points better than BW last year. Mayfield did come out and punched BW in the mouth last year and then before BW knew what hit them they got hit again and after that they seemed to me to accept their fate and throw in the towel.

I expect BW to be much better and we certainly think we are much better. We have nearly all back and they made a concerted effort to get bigger and stronger and we all feel that there is some unfinished business so it should be a good game. Slick wants to dance around the question so I will ask you, is Vocke 1A's premeir player this year and what will it take to stop such a talent. has anyone in 1A got even close?

This is way off for any team on the west side of the bracket but have any of you BNuts checked out Hazard close? They impress the heck out of me

Never seen a fan base so cocky and confident in my life ! But , they will say it is "confidence" or they have "earned" it or they are "hated by many but respected by all" or something like that ....

I can think of at least one other fan base that is on here regularly that is just as, if not more than, than this fan base. Granted the program is great but the fans are still cocky and confident.

Come on guys, tell me about Vocke, I really want to know what to expect as we have a sophmore at the main linebacker spot

What do you want to know? He is a great back. Explosive speed; incredible balance; great cutting ability. Very fun to watch in the open field. Similar to Murrell. Player of the year in 1A? Hard to say without seeing your sophomore and some other players around the state. The QB for Hazard has incredible stats. But I will say there probably isn't a more entertaining player to watch than Vocke. He really puts on a show every Friday.

Thanks Voice, sounds discouraging for our young sophmore trying to stop him but I am sure he will give it the ole Cardinal try. Did Vocke not play last year against Mayfield?

He played. Had a nice interception on defense. I think he may have carried the ball a few times.

Stop patronizing, TP. I'm starting to think ya got way too much time on your hands my friend...dang!

Someone started this thread to get the results it's getting...Mayfield is #1 and the top 1A team in the state until proven otherwise and every "true" BW fan knows and agrees with this. I hope like heck BW is warming up on the field in Ft Mitchell in four weeks...if so, that means we took care of business...I personally couldn't care less who is warming up on the other end of the field. Does BW want a rematch with Mayfield? you betcha!

After two Championship's in a row, BW came to Mayfield over-confident and got their butts handed to'em...the ease of that game may have also been what got the Card's whipped by LCA...one thing for sure, BW still feels the sting, has that bad taste, and ya woke'em up...they may not make it all the way, but I can promise it won't because of over-confidence...

Vocke is special and without a doubt BW's 1st option, however, after his first 2 TD's, NCC slowed him down...the offense put up an additional 25pts by 4 different players...so although he's very good, he's not the only option.

Stop patronizing, TP. I'm starting to think ya got way too much time on your hands my friend...dang!

Sorry Crunch but you do have qquickslick on your team. Thanks for the info on Vocke. I hope we are still playing then and I hope its BW we are against. We first have a grueling playoff road that could see us travel to Louisville, Ft. Mitchell and Bowling Green in back to back to back weeks. I admire the Tiger programs tradition. Congrats on NCC great win. Rivials often bring out the best in a team. One thing that win did for sure is demonstrate that BW is a major title contender
