Class A KY, beware of Beechwood (except NKY due to already knowing)

Featured Replies

There is no doubt that Beechwood is a familar foe to many in Eastern, Central, and other parts of KY when it comes to deeper parts of the playoffs and title game.

The reason I'm saying to beware is due to the state's Class A rankings on here and possibly on others. After seeing the way they played Newport Catholic last night, they are very alive and well in regards to being in the hunt for another title.

Do not be deceived by their size, they are definitely smaller than past teams, particularly their linemen, but they make up for it with their athleticism and speed.

Their offense is well balanced like always, while they may be underestimated defensively.

One more thing, there is a runningback on the team that may be one of their more talented that I have seen in a long time, his name is Volke. This kid heavily impressed me and I believe that it's fair to say that he could be a multi-threat to many after seeing his performance. I am surprised that I have not heard more about him on here. He is talented to say in the least.

I remember reading this on here last year when Beechwood lost to Highlands 48-20. Beechwood went on to get hammered by Mayfield in the state semis. I see a similar ending this year.

Thank you for your input.

Not that it really matters ... but the Class A State Championship trophy is already in Mayfield.

We, in NKY, are fully aware that no one has a chance against the mighty Mayfield Cardinals.

But .... thank you for your concern. Our little egos will get over it quickly.

(For the record--I love it that WKY is taking over BGP).

It's okay, let Mayfield or anyone else remain cocky. This is only motivation to Beechwood and others for that matter.

I wouldn't freit over it, Scribe is not from Mayfield nor is Mayfield cocky like quick likes to proclaim in his rants

Oh .. don't worry Toothpick ... we definitely "freit" over Mayfield.

We all know that Scribe is a WKY blowhard.

And as far as "rants" go ... I still can't figure out why you guys can't accept compliments.

We here in NKY have given you MORE than your due respect.

Have some class and accept the compliments.

As someone who has seen Mayfield 9 times now .. you would think that I would have a clue how good they are.

The good thing for Beechwood is, if they are able to get to the semi's, they won't have that long drive home after playing powerful Mayfield, being the game will be at Beechwood.

Quick do you plan to continue to come and watch the Cardinals anymore this year?

So now you feel I am classless???

I love your Mayfield rants Quick and anytime you get Bw respect you are doing somthing right granted I would find it hard for BW to have anything but respect given our relationship

You got that right, if we make it all the way the Ft. Mitchell I am already dreding that drive, one that I know very well. I have frequented NKY

Of course I will see Mayfield ... you should know better by now. (Heck ... you never know .. I have probably either spoken to you already before ... or at the very least ...spoken with you)

My thought is this ... I have complimented Mayfield over and over and over again.

You have taken those compliments and twisted and turned them in to whatever it is you seem to think that they are.

I have said nothing other than the FACT that Mayfield is probably one of the better teams in class A history.

For whatever reason ... you guys down there in WKY seem to think that is a great insult.

Beechwood respects you ... and you know it. You keep twisting that around all you want ... but it isn't going to change.

Do I think that you guys actually respect Beechwood (or anyone that you play right now) ... not so much (your comments in other places speak to that).

You are number 1 ... face the consequences.

Why quick you act as if I have posted somthing elsewhere for whatever reason where I have not. Quick you also act as if we have never been here before and that is a insult to us and our program. But I want to be a good ambassador and will now try and help you. We play Friday at 7 and I will be happy to meet up with you prior to the game and buy you dinner. Where are you staying? I can meet you there and take you to some of our better kept secrets in local food and it will give us the chance to talk some more football. What time shall we meet quick?

We could do an endzone thing, quick.

Ha, ha! Not sure I want to be part of that end zone thing guys!

The atmosphere over there is pretty wild ... and I have seen the reception for outsiders!

I may not make it back alive!

I appreciate the hospitality from both of you .. and I am sure we will have a good time.

We can make some plans later in the week.

Don't freit aboutthose tailgaters, they are as harmless as Tigers. Sounds good Quick, later this week we will make big plans. In the mean time tell me what weaknesses you have found in the Cardinals. Where can the Tigers exploit us? I'm sure with our weak schedule that you have found plenty. Which game did you miss?

At this point .. there really are no weaknesses. (if anything .. they throw more to the right than to the left .. not sure that is a weakness)

2 solid backs that can run (one more physical, one a little more "shifty").

At least 4 capable/fast/varying size receivers.

A 4 year starter at QB who is good with the long ball ... and good arm strength to throw the bubble (so quickly it is faster than a sweep).

The 3 back/overbalanced offense could be devastating to a team that can not stop the run (but switching it up nicely with the "System" running game makes thing tougher to game plan.

Don't get me started on the defense ... HUGE/quick inside. (55/65 are as good as they come)

DE's play solid technique .... squeeze well enough to give the rest of the cavalry ample time to make the play.

Everyone knows who number 9 is.

15 may be the most underrated player on the team ... maybe the best player right now (even though 9 has the biggest upside).

Also ... (and you can trace this one back) ... you have never heard (or seen) me write anything about Mayfield's schedule.

Ole' quickslick has been around enough to know when a team is good.

Not to mention ... football in WKY is a different brand .. and what is weak to the uneducated (or unseen) .. isn't so weak to people who have been around the block a few times.

The tailgaters are pretty awesome. They bring a great atmosphere to the game.

But .. I am not sure that I can handle hearing "Tonight's gonna be a good night" again this year!
