A private school in Maysville. I didn't realize they had a distrcit with borders.

Quick question. Is the AD / Principal also the band director? Every night I attended the tournament, she was directing the band. Man she must be a busy lady.

I agree with the crappy officiating. I think the association scraped the bottom of the barrell to send to the 38th. I thought the Harrison student section did a great job. Quite interesting to watch but no where near on the level of Cov. Cath. Deming's overall crowd WAY outnumbered Harrison's. Good luck to both teams in the region.

I think that maybe the teams that Montgomery County has had over the past few years may have had just a little to do with this don't you think?

The other schools can press the issue and it will become a khsaa board of control decision who typically doesn't overturn issues without a real good reason. I would think this issue would be a real good reason.

This is the same drive that Scott High School and Campbell Co had to make last year, so I don't feel sorry for Montgomery Co. there. They won't have a choice. All 4 games are scheduled during the day on Saturday. What are they going to do with the bands? Are we prohibiting them also?

Don't forget about Deming. If you get out a map and take a good look, you won't find a more central location. At least there would be some benefit to that. Another point that is really sad about all of this is that for years, people have regarded this tournament as a social occasion , an opportunity to visit with those you haven't seen in a while. Older people aren't into e-mails, text messaging and facebook. This venue totally removes that scenario as well. Even last year, and everyone should remember how I felt about that, you could get up and go visit with people from other communities that you hadn't seen in a while, but with assigned seats this year, you may as well be in Rupp arena. I was also told today that the students would sit in the end zones and would be told to vacate that area after their team played, so another student section could come in. Where are they supposed to go, sit in other people's seats? This sounds like another mess to deal with. I can only imagine what it will be like for children. Are those ushers in yellow jackets going to be entertainers and babysitters? Unless you order your tickets together with the parents of your children's friends or just get lucky the kiddies won't be sitting anywhere near their friends to keep them entertained. When I mentioned some of these new findings to my mother, who has been attending this tournament for many, many years she replied "the heck with this mess, I'll stay home and listen to the games on the radio". Of course I had to tell her the information regarding that situation as well. Congratulations Mr. Strong and the 37th district, you are going to remove everything that for years has made the 10th regional tournament special!!!!

I hope you are correct in this. But I still say everyone should boycott the concession stands to let these folks now just how wrong the decision to keep radio out is. How can you do this to elderly folks you can't come, those who have lost their jobs and don't have the money to come or those you put their child's education first and refuse to drive 1 - 2 hours on a school night to a ballgame. Let them know that this is wrong!!!

This has to be the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Do they not realize that there are many people who are not able to attend all of these games and enjoy listening to them on the radio. I'm sorry but the 10th Regional Tournament without Danny Weddle is not the 10th Region Tournament. Is it too late to back out of this mess and send the tournament back to Maysville? Surely Anthony Strong isn't naive enough to sign a contract with a clause in it such as this! Maybe we should start a concession stand boycott!

I bet when they all get home, there will be numerous posts to disagree with you. You know what they say about opinions, and no I didn't get to go to this game so I don't have an opinion, other than this game means nothing. It's the one in March that counts.

I hope this was meant to be a joke because Deming never plays great defense. This is the reason why they don't win games that they should. Until the coach realizes that defense wins games this program will never improve to where it should be with the talent they have. On a side note Rex Schalch was dressed tonight and played a few minutes. Great to see you back on the court Rex!!

Thanks for the info! It's just a question I had been wondering. In my opinion it is stupid for a coach to take a chance on getting a varsity starter hurt during a j.v. game. But of course, that is just my opinion.

Is it legal for an underclassman to start both the j.v. and the varsity game? I saw it happen recently in a game and I just wondered if there were some kind of rule to prevent this from happening or if there isn't should there be?

I doubt GRC is overlooking Mason Co. It seems like every game I've been to lately, I look up in the stands and see Larry Allison. He's either becoming a big Mason Co. fan or is doing an awful lot of scouting.

There is only 1 concession stand and the potties are not pretty at all! There was a packed house last night with most of the crowd being from Mt. Olivet. If Calvary Christian's game plan was to get the Deming 5 in foul trouble, then with the help of the refs, their game plan worked. Another note, someone in the Calvary Christian's cheering section blew a very high pitched whistle when the Deming kids shot free throws. It took the refs, until 2:00 left in the 4th quarter to make an announcement about it. I know that noise makers are against KHSAA regulations, this should have been addressed sooner. I was also disappointed with the team of refs that was sent in to handle this game, one of which is commonly seen refereeing elementary school games in Maysville, working for St. Patrick. I would have thought that a game of this caliber would have been a priority for the more experienced refs. Where was Eric Thornsbury, Bart Lennox or even Bo Queen for goodness sake, Bo worked the game against Brossart the night before. :irked:

Do you think it really wise to be discussing someone's personal life on a basketball website? Trevor and Tregg are both great kids and talented basketball players anything beyond that is no one's business.

Yes, Pendleton is much larger than Mason. Last I heard they are pushing 1000. Mason Co is 750 - 800. Mason County isn't as big as everyone thinks it is.
