I'm sorry but I guess where differences of opinion come into play. I just think he has problems with calling games the same on both ends of the floor.

I would remove Bo Queen from this list and add the much improved Bart Lennox. Jerry Thornsbury has also been a class act through the years but I don't think son Erik is there yet. I believe Bart Lennox has collegiate aspirations so he may not be around much longer.

Teaching load? Chris O'Hearn is the Assistant Principal in charge of student discipline!! I think this would be worse than teaching. As for the best job, I think that would be a toss up between Scott Co and GRC. Certified teachers as attendance clerks? :lol: What more could you ask for?

I have to agree with you there too. How about they provide day care for all the elementary school kids who only care about watching their team play and whose parents won't leave because they paid to watch 4 games. These kids are going to be wild, bored and drive everyone around them crazy. I even have a couple of small girls in my family they can entertain. Here we go again not thinking about kids.

Don't know where you attend football games, but the last one I went to, about a week ago was $4.00 to get in. I guess my extra 2 bucks in savings won't buy me a gallon of gas but I it will get me 2 double cheeseburgers at McDonals.:jump:

It's funny I've said on here before so I'll say it again I DON'T LIVE IN MASON CO!!!! I actually live much closer to you than to Maysville, assuming that you live in Milford. But even though some fans don't care about the finances, the schools do, and when increased costs are passed on to the fans in the form of increased prices, then I would think that finances would become more interesting to the fans. I do have to pay to get in and yes I think that it is a little high. Especially if you choose to leave and return and I can only image how high the food prices will be. In reference to the the clearing of the gym between games, this decision is made by a vote of the region, not by Mason Co officials, that practice didn't change this year when the tourny was held in Mt. Sterling. If you go back and read my previous post, my drive this year will be much shorter than last and I would rather see the tourny at NKU verses in Mt. Sterling. BUT, I will go on record as stating that I still hate to see the 10th regional tournament loose the atmosphere that has always made it special and I agree with MUSTANG on that issue 100%.

Was this ever in doubt? After the other rulings the KHSAA has handed out this year I would figure this would be a nobrainer. I believe the time has come to allow all kids to play wherever they want not just those with friends in high places.

Do you have any idea of a ballpark figure? Pressrow, I would be willing to bet that the amount you are referring to is never revealed! Just like how those business in Mt. Sterling were going to make up any difference in revenue from last year's tourny and we all know how that turned out.

The next time the two regions double up the 9th Region will go first. This is what I was referring to in Mustang's original post. Since they believe they have a shot at hosting it for the next 2 years, I would think that as far as your drive would be, you would agree with me Goldie, that the 10th should always play the first game.

I was also in attendance at both of the Deming vs. PC games last year. I didn't realize that PC had a set of twins that played. With that in mind, as far as being an intregal part of their teams, I'll give the edge to the King boys. In my opinion, it wasn't talent that beat Deming last year, it was coaching experience. I'll look for the Florence twins this year.

I do hope they have the good sense to pair the games according to the region so that those who don't care to watch the other games can only watch our particular region and then leave. The 10th region should definitely have the first final game on Tuesday night because member schools have much longer travel times.

Personally, I hate 2 aspects of this. First a $12.00 per person ticket price to leave and return on Saturday is ABSURD!!!! I'm sure the cost of food will be jacked up for this as well. Second a 2 game doublehead final on a school night makes it very hard for the small children. Yes there are elementary school kids to like to go to these games which would make it very difficult for them if their school played the 2nd game. I really don't mind the venue, the drive is much better for me than last year and I'm quite sure the potties will be just as pretty. But I think for at least the 10th region the tournament will lose the atmosphere which has always made the 10th region special.

Just a question, can those early offers from colleges be retracted if kids don't quite live up to their potential?

Downtown Mt. Olivet has a flashing 4 way stop light in the center of town right next to the Integra Bank that was robbed by the blue eyed bandit. They once had a old fashioned stop light that changed colors but that was replaced many years ago.

Daddy has a couple of comments on this thread. 1. Glad to see Deming playing in this one. I for one like the local schools playing in the fieldhouse. :thumb: 2. The King twins are decent ball players but I wouldn't put them as top in the state or even in the 10th region. 3. The fieldhouse does attract top teams to play each year. Examples Scott Co., Lexington Catholic, Elliott County & Bryan Station last year. They just don't use the MCIT for that purpose. Maybe they like inviting the locals? Who knows. 4. It looks like Daddy has something to do on New Year's Day versus taking down Christmas decorations!:thumb: 5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I read on here somewhere in the past that Mason Co. had joined some sort of coalation? Maybe the weather wasn't the only reason for skipping out on the Lexington Catholic Tourny. Anyone know for sure?

This happens quite frequently in other districts as well but because it isn't mason co and athletics are not involved so no one cares. I didn't say I agreed with it I am just saying it is a common practice.

I doubt this thread would have been started if the kid could play the violin and wanted to be in the orchestra. This kind of thing happens everywhere all the time.
