Highlands @ Mason County predictions(Dec. 2)

What does Highlands have this season?

What does Highlands have this season?

Highlands will come ready to play and they have a Top 10 9th Region performer in Steve Kowolonek who will most probably shoulder the scoring. I know Mason Co has the advantage of probably having their entire squad and no football players missing. Highlands unfortunately is waiting for a couple 6'5 post players who are currently leading the football team to its 18th state championship.

With that said, I think this is a great opener for both teams but playing on the road against the defending state champs will be a monumental task for the Junior laden Birds.

I have heard that Mason Co has 3 kids over 6'4 who are athletic and can do many things with the basketball.

This might be a tough game for the Birds to open up with since they won't be at full strength, but it will be good for them in the long run having the younger guys play against a top 20 team like MC.

I'd say the Birds keep it close for a half but see MC pulling away in the 3rd and 4th.

MC by 10-15.

I'll go with MC by about 12 to 15. I just don't think Highlands has enough to keep up with MC. That being said, I think Highlands will improve with the addition of it's football players after the football season is over.

Mason WINS!!!!!!:ylsuper:

I'm sure that it will be a big night for Coach Willie Schlarman as he returns to the Mason County Fieldhouse, site of his 2000 Brossart Mustangs' 10th Region Championship and a pair of MCIT titles.

The Fieldhouse has always been a very special place to Willie (and those of us who took that glory ride with him) and you can count on him picking up a bag of popcorn for old times sake prior to the game.

How many HHS kids play football. Mason will be at their full compliment, but HHS may be hurting for players for another month.

Which is a joke. Why dont they just play the state football championship in Jan. so the kids that want to play basketball get 1/2 a season in. Highlands is always at a disadvantage in December.

Looking forward to taking my front row seat for another season of great basketball.

I would like to think I might be "a tad" more tame this year, but depends on how the game is going.

Since I don't know much of anything about any team yet, I will just follow the lead here and say Mason Co by 10-15.

Mason will more than likely start Middleton, Setty, .Rice, Barner, and Lang. Look for Pawsat and Gilbert off the bench early since Downing and Hamm are out.

See post #12 and let's leave it at that.

Who else did Mason scrimmage and what was the outcome?

I will pick Mason to win this one.

Downing out is a coaches choice. He will be back for the Cov Cath game for sure.

Mason County has only one more scrimmage, tomorrow afternoon. They have only scrimmaged Greenup Co.

What happened, and how long will they be out?
