Hazard at LCA
LCA is probably the more talented team, and usually that is the deciding factor. LCA by 6

New Harlan County High School Coach
Yes, I do. This coach can not come the current Harlan co. coaches. The only coach that should even be slightly considered is J.B.. Other than that, it would become a big mess.

What's the call??
This is nothing more than illegal touching. Five yard penalty and loss of down. This is not a fumble or intentional grounding.

New Harlan County High School Coach
I think he is really focused on turning Whitley around. Expect big things from Jim Black next year. As for the Harlan Co. job, I keep hearing about Coach Woolum.

Campbellsville 38 Williamsburg 36 (1A)
I think you can look for freshman Travis Thomas to get in that fullback mix as well, he is going to be a beast.

Campbellsville @ Hazard (1A)
I think Hazard is a very good team, but Campbellsville is probably has the most talent. Campbellsville has extremly quick personnel, and I believe they can be very succesful against Hazard if they will use more spread sets. They have some very quick kids.

Campbellsville 38 Williamsburg 36 (1A)
It was third and 20+ and Campbellsville went press 1 on 1 coverage . Williamsburg was struggling with their punting game most of the game, why not take a shot down field. The 14 points scored on coverage errors was the turning point in the game. Along with the number of penalties that hurt Williamsburg in the 2nd half.

Pikeville @ Lexington Christian (1A)
I am going to go with Pikeville. They will be able to stop the LCA running and screen game.

Corbin at Newport Central Catholic (2A)
Corbin is a very talented team, and I think they can keep up with NCC. I think Coach Jewell will have them ready to go. I am going with the upset in a high scoring game. Corbin- 33 NCC-31

Campbellsville 38 Williamsburg 36 (1A)
All I have to say is Coach Herron got everything he could possibly get out of his team this season. In what was supposed to be a major rebuilding year for the jackets he some how managed to squeeze every once of talent out of his young kids. Right now I know the Jacket fans are hurting, but things look bright for next year. The Jackets return a lot of kids, which should be led by Sophmore Quarterback Ryan Moses (who broke the single season passing yards record at Williamsburg this season) and 4 returning recievers who collectively had 3,200 yards receiving(Aaron Brock with 1,200 of that yardage). My hats off to Campbellsville. They had every oppurtunity to lay down in this ball game. It was 22-6 with 6 minutes to go and they fought their tales off. The Jackets made to many mistakes in coverage down the stretch. The majority of the mistakes could be chalked up to inexperience in key positions. Good luck Campbellsville, we are routing for you! People in Jacket land you have reason to proud of how hard your kids fought, and you have a lot to look forward to in the future.

Second Round: Campbellsville @ Williamsburg
I do not think you can compare the types of plays the campers ran and the burg. Two different of a offense. Lynn Camp packs it in , and Williamsburg is to spread out. One team is more of an Edge running team and The other team run more inside on draws and such.

Questioning a Coach
There are some people who are not cut out for certain jobs. But with that said, look at Rich Brooks. Everybody was saying he could never get it done at Kentucky, and he has turned the program around. This guy may not be doing everything right, but I guarantee he is not doing everything wrong. It also may not be a reflection of the coach that so many has quit. It may be the result of what the program was before he got there. If you have not demanded complete dedication in the past, it usually causes problems when the new coach comes in. Somebody believes in him or he would not have been hired.

Second Round: Middlesboro @ Corbin
It is not about adjustments, it is more about some of their younger kids gainning experience. I do not think the Jackets will beat the hounds, but it definetly will be more competitive.

Second Round: Middlesboro @ Corbin
Middlesboro will do a little better job defensively, but the same ultimate result. Corbin-28 Middlesboro-15

Know one wants to see kids get humiliated. There is never a reason to run up a score, and I have been on both sides of a blowout of this magnitude. The one thing I will say is, sometimes it is hard to keep your kids from scoring. As long as your not doing it with your starters I do not see the point. The bench players come to practice every day and work, does the coach need to come in and say boys don't play hard. Should he try to keep from scoring. I also know it is hard to go for one point at the end of a score when you are subed down. So you end up going for two. As long as you are subed down and everyone plays in these types of games I have no problem with it.- Mr. Football....late season ideas
You are absolutley correct. This kid is as good as advertised. The stats are there and the ability level is there.- Covington Catholic at Highlands (Predictions)
Defense will be the determining factor. Cov. Cath-13 Highlands- 12- Second Round: Campbellsville @ Williamsburg
All I was even using the comparisson for was that even with a lot of points, they have been their own worst enemy in letting others score and stay in the games. That is something that can bite you hard. 38 did not beat the Eagles, 40 barely beat the Cats, and I'm thinking the game will have to be in the 50's by the Jackets to win. I totally agree with you!! I really do not care to much about the burg versus the campers. 38 did not do it against cville, but it was a slow start to the offense. The Burg D needs a strong night from the O to hang in any ball game. The Burg has always caused turnovers by making teams work defensively and make them play at a pace they are not used to. For the Jackets to be sucessful they will have to make c'ville work on defense.- Second Round: Campbellsville @ Williamsburg
I wasn't arguing I was in agreement with you. I only talked about lynn camp because most of the posters for this game seem to be Lynn Camp fans. I was not trying to offend you by bringing up a sore subject.- Hensley Rating System's Class 1A Picks (Playoff Week #2)
Region 1- Mayfield by 12 and Frankfort by 24 Region2-Hoy Cross by 17 and Beechwood by 21 Region3-LCA by 20 and Pikeville by 6 region 4- Campbellsville by 10 and Cumberland by 3- Second Round: Campbellsville @ Williamsburg
They run the ball between the tackles well. Granted they are taken advantage of people in coverage, but what ever it is good balance. According to the stats in single A the Moses kid had a 1040 in 8 games. Which is 130 yards a game. not bad for a team that throws for 3,000 yards. Williamsburg is what they are, a well balanced team. I think Campbellsville could take away the run very easily, but they would have to give up something in the passing game . Campbellsville will have to pick there spots and try to take away there tendancies to be succesful. If you look at the Lynn camp game, When Lynn camp defended the run the could not stop the Williamsburg passing attack. When they bailed the bandits they started running the football. The same game plan will be in effect against Campbellsville. The only difference is Campbellsville will probably give Williamsburg a little more trouble because they can line up in multiple formations and run. They can find the mismatch and exploit it.- Second Round: Rockcastle County @ Bell County
The Rock is not as strong as in years past. They will not stop Bell Co. Bell-36 Rock-17- Madison Southern Open?
There seemed to be a slew of problems with madison Southern this year. The thing that will make this such a intriguing job, is the young talent that was on the team. They all played this year, and have experience. This will benefit the next coach who comes in. - Does It Bother You
