Williamsburg moved the ball the whole first half, but could not punch it in but once. Williamsburg dominated the second half offensively running and throwing and clicking on all cylinders. Defensively, Madison Southern got two big plays threw the passing game to hurt Williamsburg (one each half). The game went pretty much as expected, and the Williamsburg kids seemed to handle adversity well (with the number of first half penalties).

That is what I have been saying all along!!! Whitley is for real, and this game went pretty much the way I thought it would.

It takes way more than 11 (there are 66 postions on a football field between offense, defense, kick off, kick return, punt, and punt return), but that is my point exactly!!! That is why 5 A schools usually beat 1A teams, there are more kids to play these postions. They do not have to use the same 11 over and over, saving their legs throughout the game. Which improves their speed of play. Well anyway, I hope it is a good game, but I am still picking Whitley to dominate this game on the line of scrimmage.

There is another way to look at that. Madison Southern is obviously talented enough to break a big lead against Mcreary. I say they will be focused after blowing it down the stretch against the raiders.

I look at this as a tuff game for the Jackets. A lot of speed for Madison Southern will hurt Williamsburg on the edges. This will probably be a score fest. I'll go high scoring Jackets-44 Madison Southern-41

Ok, I agree with most of that. But, a good 5A team should have more talent than a good 1A team. Talent and Coaching wins games. More kids to choose from equals more talent or at least it should).

I do not mean any disrespect to Hazard. Hazard is a fine single a team. I am just believe in the running game of Whitley, and it also helps their defense out a bunch. I just really expect a big game from Whitley.

Who are the key players for Harlan this year? Can you tell us a little about them?

I have seen them play, and without Watts this team would be in the same boat as Harlan. The Roark kid is good, but as good of a tailback as in the state that might be stretching it. Everybody has to defend Watts a certain way or he will break a game wide open. This allows other kids to break some runs or make some catches.

I have watched Whitley and they have more than a fullback. Perry just got beat by a single a school last week. I will have to go with Whitley County and it probably will not be close. :fire:

4A Mcreary should edge out Single A Harlan. With Harlan being down this year, they will not be able to handle the Watts kid. Without Watts these teams would be pretty much even.

Coach Elam is doing a decent job at Pineville, and most people should realize there is only 160 kids in Pineville's high school. It is not like Coach Elam has the most talented team in the state. Most people would have quit(like the last coach), if given this situation.

Whitley is a much tougher team than Perry Co, and should be able to run the ball all over them. Whitley-38 Perry-12

I seriously doubt Jenkins will be on the schedule for next year. The travel for this game does not make much since. Jackets did what they needed to do. The game was pretty much over by the end of the first quarter. The Jackets got a lot of their young kids some playing time in this one which always helps toward the future. A couple of the kids who were banged up didn't really play in this one, and got a chance to heal. Overall I would say it was a very positive week for the Jackets.

When is Lynn Camps off week, it sounds like they could use one to get healthy.

I hate the fact that Lynn camp has had so much trouble with injuries the last couple of years. I was reading the Corbin Times this morning and it sounds like they can't keep anybody healthy. Yes I have. I would still have to go with Watts, he is a better athlete and defensive player. Being a Williamsburg fan, I would love to have an athlete as good as either one of them. Rico is a good athlete as well, and he definetly can score every time he touches the ball.

In football there are two year contracts, and Watts will not be there the second year of the contract. All I am refering to is that Jellico has a better record against Williamsburg than Mcreary Co, which is an absolute fact. I believe Mcreary fans believe that Williamsburg is trying to dodge Mcreary which is a crazy notion.

I am just responding to asking for a coaches job in the middle of the season. This is crazy. Last year I heard some Whitley fans say the same thing about Black, when Whitley was going through hard times and it angered me then. It makes the situation worse for the kids. Now, Black is having sucess in the program. I also think back at Uk with coach Brooks, and how people called for his job. Now he is succesful. I am personally a Williamsburg fan ad have no stake, but I have seen the affects when negativity is allowed to go. All I am saying is that if people feel that way, that there is a more appropriate time.

Mcreary should win this game. Mcreary will have the most talented kid on the field, and that should be enough. Raiders- 24 Madison Southern-22
