This will be a MUCH better game the second time around. The Jackets will be on their home turf for a district title. Williamsburg has a great offensive scheme and seems to be clicking very well. C-Ville is healthy but last night was a big emotional win for the Eagles. Can they take another 2 hour bus ride and play with the same enthusiasm? The demanding schedule approach appears to have hardend these young Eagles. Williamsburg will be "Loaded for Bear". Should be a great game. More observations later.

Williamsburg's strong weakness from earlier in the season will revisit in the form of a strong, physical team with speedy weapons. They overacheived for this season, where not much was expected of them and they got the #1 seed. It may be close for a little while, but the Eagles have some sort of grudge against the Jackets and will score when and however much they can.

 

It was apparent from the first game that they were going to score what they could. Something made bad blood between these two and Campbellsville won't forget. That, plus the fact that Williamsburg can't stop Bridgewater, will end the Jackets season.

 

W'burg will have some kids playing that did not play against the Eagles the first time, but they will make very little difference.

If WHS gives up 60 points they deserve to lose Cat, but some of the kids that were out may make a big difference on the defense. We both know how big losing a starter is especially in 1A ball, much less multiple starters. This should be a great game, and I think surprisingly, that defense will decide the game for the Jackets.

Campbellsville will overcome a tough season and move on in the playoffs continuing down a tough road. Campbellsville 42 - Williamsburg 38.

The kids that were out, if you are comparing them to who I think you are, were not of his caliber.

He anchored our offense, and I really don't think a kid who missed the 1st matchup between these two (Jackets/Eagles) brings the same thing that he brought to our O to the Jacket D.

 

Cumberland and Campbellsville both had the same type of team that is hard for the 'Burg to match up with, and both won.

 

IF the Jacket QB had been out, valid point for someone being out.

 

BUT the D against these types of teams has been less than stellar and they have given up the points. Unless Urelacher was one of the kids that was out on D, Campbellsville can and will score 60+ on the young Jackets, just to prove a point.

They (Jackets) have given up MANY points to running teams, even weak ones lately. We scored 34 without our best weapon and only scored a handful of points against anyone else after that. Gave up to 54 to a one deminsional (Watts) McCreary team. 60 points is a bigger possibility than a sudden ability to stop a power running team!

 

The missing starters were present as of late and:

Did not stop Evarts run completely

 

Had trouble with the Mountain Lions run game

 

Cannot stop Bridgewater and company from scoring.

 

On top of that, the Eagles kids will probably remember some of the hard feelings from what happened during the 1st game and won't play soft ball, IMO. 60+

I was simply referring to the depth issues of 1A teams...not to the loss of Roskopf in particular...yes he was a huge loss. Will Moses is the Jacket's Roskopf in the running game and makes up ground on defense as well as anyone. But it didn't hurt WHS as bad as Joe going down. The Pineville game was a matter of giving up big plays due to blown assignments...it wasn't runs broken through the line...it was runs that were cutbacks etc. Campbellsville simply ran over the DL due to some health issues on both lines...they are now playing and more importantly able to play both ways again with rest, as opposed to sitting on one side of the ball or the other...as I said if WHS gives up 60 they deserve to lose. The McCreary game saw those same starters out as well...so a comparison can not be drawn to those numbers. It is time to put up or shut up for the Jackets. I am not entirely aware of what happened in the first game, but I believe it was addressed. As we saw today in the OSU vs. Wisc. game kids do things that are sometimes beyond the control of their respective coaches...I hope whatever happened will not spill over and make this a "dirty" game. Keep it clean, respectfull, and exciting football boys.

OSU played Illinois and Michigan played Wisconsin!

....AND Campbellsville still has the game which just plows over your front. We had trouble stopping them friday, and Williamsburg will lack the meat up front to stop a fired up Campbellsville team. Speed on D is not the problem.

 

Unless the kids that were out for the Jackets are just huge (which I did not see any huge kids, even when healthy), I do not see any way that they can slow down the RB's that the Eagles have.

 

Addressed or not, it will be a factor from the other side. It's easy to ignore it if you were the perpetrator and not the receiver of said acts.

I really don't think that it will get dirty, nor do I think that the Eagles will forget the disrespect which occured and will use it as motivation.

 

The Jackets would not, we would not, most teams would not.

 

They'll just use it on the field, again. They have the ability to punish a smaller team and will.

Obviously the far superior Eagles will destroy the poor Jackets because they have a great running back...I don't even think he's as good as Wagner myself, but we'll see. WHS shouldn't even show up and forfeit to this far superior team to save themselves the embarasment...does that about sum it up Cat...hahaha. I know what you are saying the Eagle strength seems to be the Jacket kryptonite, but its the playoffs you never know what can happen. You keep posting that buletein board material for WHS; I'm sure they'll use it.

Daddy Cat what are you talking about? I don't remeber seeing any problems between C'ville and the Burg at that game.

They didn't stop him before, better, worse or same as Wagner.

 

It all comes down to control of the line and Campbellsville will get the better showing here.

 

ALSO, if the 'Burg is still needing bulletin board material in the 2nd round, you may just want to forfeit!

 

Take it how you want, but the same thing has happened everytime they faced a team (well, except one, which had different circumstances attatched) that played power football with big lines. Bridgewater eat them up, Cumberlands backs eat them up, and LC even moved the ball and scored big without Roskoph, something we did not do the rest of the season. Plus, they can control the clock.

 

The game is at W'burg, which is a plus, and, as you say, anything can happen there. Maybe Bridgewater will miss the bus or get the flu......

They are much more than a one man show, though. They have a couple of good backs behind him, but he is the stable Hoss!!!

Having heard all your excuses it remains Williamsburg did beat Lynn Camp, and will go on....try a different record that one is sticking.

Could they beat, in your honest, straight faced opinion, beat Hazard and Middlesboro with or without Moses?

 

We did lose, and lost close, but lost, all 4 games without Joe.

 

Jackets lost big without these kids and IMO would not be able to take the other Jackets or the Dawgs, either, with the same kids.

 

The same night that W'burg was fighting for life against Evarts and Pineville, we were getting shoved around by at least one team the Jackets could have to face. We kept it close against the current #1 team in A ball, and let special teams klill us against a good top 10 AA team.

 

It's all about matchups. Jackets don't matchup well with these types of teams is what I am saying. Nothing wrong with that, but it can't be changed this late in the season.
