That's what I am saying, but the passing offense has to be hitting on the money. I am sure that W'burg's best outting of the season on Offense was not at LC. There were a lot of drops and low passes in that game. They scored 40, but had opportunities to score more. 38 did not beat C'ville last time, so the O has to find what is there. I agree with you, but I know that C'ville has seen them before, also.

 

They have to hit when they can and have the opportunity is what I have been saying. They also have to stop the run that killed them last time. THAT is a hard task in itself. The clock gets eat up and you have to play faster ball IF you get behind. Plus, Campbellsville had a couple of INT's that turned into points against W'burg last time. They will have to try and be the aggressor friday to make things happen.

I wasn't arguing I was in agreement with you. I only talked about lynn camp because most of the posters for this game seem to be Lynn Camp fans. I was not trying to offend you by bringing up a sore subject.

I wasn't upset. I was just saying that the opportunity was there to score more points, but mistakes were made in the passing game. I was also being sincere about the game not being Williamsburg's best offensive outing of the year. They had better nights with their offense than that one No harm intended. They moved the ball. Could they have moved it better that night? Yes, but couldn't we all most nights?

 

All I was even using the comparisson for was that even with a lot of points, they have been their own worst enemy in letting others score and stay in the games. That is something that can bite you hard. 38 did not beat the Eagles, 40 barely beat the Cats, and I'm thinking the game will have to be in the 50's by the Jackets to win.

I totally agree with you!! I really do not care to much about the burg versus the campers. 38 did not do it against cville, but it was a slow start to the offense. The Burg D needs a strong night from the O to hang in any ball game. The Burg has always caused turnovers by making teams work defensively and make them play at a pace they are not used to. For the Jackets to be sucessful they will have to make c'ville work on defense.

They tried to stay in power I all night against CHS...they stacked the box and stopped LC. The Jacket O will create space and running lanes; it the CHS D does not sell out to stop the pass they will give up a ton of yards to Williamsburg's strength. However if they play solid pass defense and force WHS to run, they are capable as well...they simply can't make mental mistakes and help out a good football team in Campbellsville.

The field is in good shape it drains well and still has a good stand of grass. The Bermuda has turned brown but it is very playable. Ralph Prewitt does a great job maintaining the field.The forecast is for cold but I still expect the Jacket faithful to show up. The capacity is small but it will be more than sufficient for this game.

Eagle, In the LC games, The Eagles have not traveled well. Will it be different this week?

The Eagles punched Williamsburg in the mouth early last game and they flinched. The Jackets have grown up a bunch since then and I do not expect they would have the same reaction this game.If the Eagles jump to a lead early it will be difficult for the Jackets. I look for a much closer game this time around. Ryan Moses needs to throw the ball well early. I beiieve he was injured in the first game and struggled planting to throw the ball. But heput up enough points to win. The D for the Jackets must play better if they are to win. The big corner did a good job on Brock but Pettit is playing much better. Will Moses was not only missed on offense last game but his speed was sorely missed on defense.

Campbellsville has speed on D. I think they have improved on both sides of the ball as well as this season went on.

I do not think you can compare the types of plays the campers ran and the burg. Two different of a offense. Lynn Camp packs it in , and Williamsburg is to spread out. One team is more of an Edge running team and The other team run more inside on draws and such.

WHS runs it between the tackles quite a bit due to defenses honoring the pass. If they do not then the Burg will light up the scoreboard throwing...if they do Will Moses can have a big night. The defense is the key this week.
