The only Williamsburg wins this game is for C-ville to turn it over 8 times like LC did.....Other than that they have not a chance......

You are right...wont be much of a game...so I guess since LC is out you will probably be going to watch a good game this week....IMO Bell\Rock will be a low scoring slug fest will Bell winning by 1 or 2 tds...The Corbin\Middlesboro game will be high scoring with Corbin winning 2 or 3 tds...but I guess they will go ahead and play the games even though Rock and Middlesboro lost the 1st time.

Actually 2 kick-off returns out of 9 for tds is very very good...the average is probably 1 out of every 30-50.

This game will be ANYTHING but a Defensive struggle. Both have allowed points this year, and even in the earlier game where C'ville put up 60+, I think W'burg was in the 30's, weren't they? If anyone likes to see a lot of offense and two different styles of it, this will be the game to be at!!!!:thumb:

I agree Williamsburg will score points which puts them in any ball game. I think Williamsburg is a very good team at capitalizing on other teams mistakes (for example Lynn Camp Game). Campbellsville obviousley is the most talented of the two teams. They are big strong and run the edges well. Campbellsville also can pass the ball a little bit, which will make the jackets cover the whole field. This will make it harder for them to bunch up in the box. This game is a toss up. If Campbellsville can stop the jackets early they will push them around the whole game. The first three defensive series is where Campbellsville can win this game. The jackets are young and when they do not have sucess early they seem to struggle. When they get rolling they are hard to stop.

 

If the Jackets control the game with their offense and wear out Campbellsville playing defense The jackets will win 36-32. It could just as easy be a blowout the other way.

Those are some very good observations. Campbellsville (2 seniors ) is young too. I think the same holds true for them as well. Early success is important to a young team. It should be a war. Too early to call a winner. More observations later.

I will be the first to say, in every game, with the exception of Clinton County, Williamsburg's opponents have had the edge in talent and speed. This makes the job Coach Herron and staff have done this year all the more impressive.

Very astute observations. I agree with eagle nation this should be a war. I think Williamsburg has definitely improved since the first meeting. An earlier poster said it would be slobberknocking versus finesse. I would remind all that Williamsburg also rushed for well over 1400 yards this year as well, with Will Moses having over 1,000 yards, and Jake Moses having 3 games of over 100 yards rushing as Will's replacement. The key to this game is the d line of Williamsburg. If they can make a few stops it will be a good game. Ryan Moses seems to be back on his game and if the protection holds up the maturation of Pettit, Brock, and Dusty Brown as receivers should be evident. All in all, look for a close, high scoring game.

1400 yards really is not that much, but considering W'burg's bread and butter, it is. BUT don't expect to move the ball easily on the ground against the Eagles. They bring a pounding when you run at them. Williamsburg has to have their air attack going, or it will turn ugly.

 

Williamsburg is more finesse ball, Volfan. They are somewhat physical, but don't have the size to overpower on the run like Campbellsville does.

If they can pass with decent success to start the game the run will be there. It's all about loosening the defense up. The line just has to hold long enough at first, because I'm sure Campbellsville will blitzt when the game starts to try and rattle the QB. So if they can withstand that initial onslaught and force Campbellsville to change things up on D then the run will be there.

Yes, the run will show itself somewhat, but Campbellsville can play some good D. They have the discipline needed to stay put. This will be a big test for both teams.

They run the ball between the tackles well. Granted they are taken advantage of people in coverage, but what ever it is good balance. According to the stats in single A the Moses kid had a 1040 in 8 games. Which is 130 yards a game. not bad for a team that throws for 3,000 yards. Williamsburg is what they are, a well balanced team. I think Campbellsville could take away the run very easily, but they would have to give up something in the passing game . Campbellsville will have to pick there spots and try to take away there tendancies to be succesful. If you look at the Lynn camp game, When Lynn camp defended the run the could not stop the Williamsburg passing attack. When they bailed the bandits they started running the football. The same game plan will be in effect against Campbellsville. The only difference is Campbellsville will probably give Williamsburg a little more trouble because they can line up in multiple formations and run. They can find the mismatch and exploit it.
