  1. Mustangs successfully defend their 10th region All "A" crown!! Congrats to both teams on a very entertaining final's game!! One of those that's it's a shame someone had to lose. Hat's off to Deming on a great game and to all the players for giving it a great effort tonight. Good luck to BB in Richmond!!
  2. No problem--Good to have you in the area. Since '07-'08, I'd say CCH has been in that #2 spot.
  3. Mason, Pendleton, etc. being part of NKY will always be another argument, but certainly would fit this timeframe? I was thinking more of the Scott, Brossart, and maybe SK teams of that era? Brossart for one finished #1 in '05 and '07 in the Enquirer and Post polls in NKY, but had the "misfortune" of playing in the 10th region with some very good Mason, Pendleton and GRC teams and didn't make it to Rupp. Pretty sure Highlands and NCC had some good team in that timeframe as well--The '07 graduating classes across the area were special in NKY in virtually all sports!!
  4. Not to nit-pik, but I'm assuming you mean "9th region teams" here, not NKY?? If so, you may get an argument from some 8th & 10th region NKY teams, especially in the ----'04'05, -'05-'06, '06-'07 timeframe!!
  5. Very good detail of his resume on bmustangs.com site.
  6. Why would the supporters of any program not want some HHS mojo on their side? Congrats and best of luck to Coach Lickert--Hope he gets the support and opportunity to run the program his way that he deserves.
  7. 7--Boone County 5--Harrison County 3--Holmes 2--Mason County 1--Montgomery County TB--Holmes
  8. Congrats to Deming--Looks like they took care of business in the play in game. Look for them to come out of their bracket to the finals.
  9. Was this in the All "A" regional?
  10. All of the 10th region All "A" games will be broadcast live from NKU's Regents Hall on http://www.bmustangs.com
  11. HC and a couple others may qualify numbers-wise, but have moved up to D-II years ago, as their programs have progressed. The Beechies might do themselves a favor if they moved up as well, and competed against stiffer competition that could help them improve their program??
  12. Year before last, but you're right BB has been on a roll since the early '00's.
  13. Personally love the Fieldhouse for the 10th region tourney, but realize that NKY (BOK Center) and Montgomery have viable options as well. MC's "student section behind the opposing team" situation at the MCFH, while a huge advantage for the home team given their conduct; is probably a huge contributing factor in the desire to rotate the tourney. Let's just say the "visiting team" isn't treated as well as their fans????????
  14. You forgot last year's favorite--Too much emphasis on defense!! "Better to score a lot and lose, than never to score a lot" per the CC faithful!!
  15. 7--Ryle 5--Holy Cross 3--Simon Kenton 2--Covington Catholic 1--Deming TB--Ryle
  16. Don't punish them for being poor?? They're self funded, and don't play in a big gym built by taxpayer's dollars (including BB parents and Alum's state tax $$'s), like the other schools you mentioned who host this tourney?? Applaud them for being creative, and trying to put on a quality show; as well as allowing for a unique experience for the kids (remember it's for them) and giving area fans a chance to witness this fine tourney!!
  17. I think you hit the nail on the head here? I've spent tons of $$'s on gas wondering to the far reaches of the 10th region from NKY for years, and now Brossart's trying to put on a first class tourney, and somebody's complaining about NKU's decision to charge $3.00 to park?? Give me a break--Stay home and listen to the broadcasts for free then.
  18. Congrats to the 'Breds--Good win against a very nice field!!
  19. Like I said in the AIT thread, watch out for the NKY teams in this tourney--Lot of recent history!! Congrats to SK on the victory, and to Ashland as well; it sounds like they are coming back to their form of the past. Best of luck to both the remainder of the season!!
  20. Since you never answered my original question, I'll have to assume you are a Brossart coach or ex-player, given your knowledge of their "inner teachings" on the theatrics of making noise while taking a charge. Having seen a few of their games over the years, and knowing many players, etc.; I know the Mustangs have always prided themselves on their defense, and often are among the leaders in "D" in the state. This said, I know for a fact that they pride themselves, as do all great defensive squads, on the lost art of setting up and taking a charge; and trust me, it takes some nerve to do so. I can honestly not recall any excessive noise, or often any at all; but rather have watched kids get up and brush themselves off and move on. I think Mustang's point is that it's quite disappointing when a defensive player does what he's coached to do correctly, takes the punishment, and isn't rewarded with the call?? The wide open nature of today's game, with the highlight reels on ESPN showing the slam dunks; often ignore possibly the most courageous play in the game, and that's standing in and having a guy run over you while taking a charge!! Watch some BB games, and those of other defensive minded clubs, and you'll notice how often the player on "D" doesn't get the call in these situations. Doesn't make for sexy film on YouTube, but does win some ball games!!
  21. Not in this debate as I wasn't at this game, but I'm dying to know what the heck you're talking about here??
  22. This sounds much more like the version I had heard. Talked to a couple of folks at the game, who said the freshmen Camels were totally out of control on both ends of the floor; and added a couple of "T's" for good measure. Brossart had beaten the Camels soundly in their earlier meeting, so the outcome wasn't surprising, even with their PG & leader scorer sitting with an injury. Sounds like the Camels decided to test the young Mustangs toughness, and they passed the teat??
