Simon Kenton 65 Ashland 60

SK holds on for the victory after making some big plays down the stretch allowed them to pull it out. Ashland had a two point lead midway through the 4th, Reilly hits a three, then it's followed by a DJ Rabe converting on a three point play. SK again shot great from the line while Ashland struggled from the stripe. Stats to follow.

Good win for the Pioneers considering they lost to this same team by 12 a week ago.

Nice victory for the Pioneers. That is a very nice tournament and beating the home team in a hostile environment I am sure wasnt easy.

They seem to be getting better as the season goes along. I saw Nick Gray in a sling, is he done for the year?

The initial indication for Nick was 6-8 weeks. At best we are looking at mid February.

Like I said in the AIT thread, watch out for the NKY teams in this tourney--Lot of recent history!! Congrats to SK on the victory, and to Ashland as well; it sounds like they are coming back to their form of the past. Best of luck to both the remainder of the season!!

I was really surprised that Knott Co Central didnt win this one, hats off to SK for their big win over them last night. Bullitt East was also a very good team with great size and an outstanding guard in Hayden Sweat.

Ashland rode the home court advantage and had a great gameplan to beat Male from what I heard. They threw a 1-3-1 zone at them last night wich caused them problems.

Sampson, Rabe and Chambers all had a nice tournament for SK.

Sampson has tallied 10+ points for eight consecutive games and Chambers has had two straight good scoring nights. One thing that bodes well for the Neers is they can really score from the stripe and it starts with Chambers. I know if you are a coach you have to be happy when your best player is a great free throw shooter. Congrats to coach Steiner and his staff. Next up is Boone County at the "Joe" on Tuesday night.

Congrats to Coach Steiner and SK!

Good job SK they are now 9-3 here is the box score from the game.

ASHLAND 11 16 13 20 -- 60: Withrow 6, Delaney 16, Gregg 18, Whetsel 7, Bush 1, Johnson 12.

I was glad I made the trip for the final game. It was a hard fought true road game, one that will pay dividends for SK down the road. As hot as Simon Kenton was in the first two games they were just as cold in this one. DJ Rabe played his tail off, altering shots and collecting every rebound. For three quarters Riley couldn't hit the broadside of the barn and then comes up with a clutch step back 3 to silence an electric Ashland crowd.

Congrats to SK
