RM I appreciate your support, but the argument isn't even worth getting into. One will always find what they are looking for if they look hard enough. Manual is farthest from a dirty program that it isn't worth responding to.

I suppose it is just a regional difference, but most games I watch are much, much, much more nasty on the field than that game.

This is fairly common place activity in football nowdays. I'm somewhat surprised you are shocked by it. Also the late hit was a rare exception in that game and the Manual coaches pulled the player out immediately. It was bad, but from my vantage point it was more stupid bad than malicious bad.

This is a must win for Manual if they want a halfway decent record. I didn't know at the time but the Manual qb Derek Woodmore didn't play at all during the Ballard scrimmage due to injury. I'm not certain how much if any practice he missed, but I think having a full game under his belt against Highlands will really help this Manual offense. Last week against Highlands the offense had no consistency until the fourth quarter. If they can get settled in earlier (like the 1st quarter) they might be able to put some decent numbers up. Defensively I think Manual could be in for a very good year. So long as we limit big plays from speedsters we have the ability to shut teams out. The "superfan" side of me wants to see that in this game, but that may be asking to much. I haven't heard a lot of positive coming out of the Fern Creek play in there scrimmages, but one shouldn't make to much of practice games. Prediction Manual 28 Fern Creek 7

This is not the same thing. If this were to happen I would entirely blame the coach. But in the actual scenario I was no less than eight yards from the coach who was speaking in my direction. The coach adequately protected the play from the opposing team. Also (to the many many posters this includes) the fact that they probably aren't listening is acknowleged in the question. To use it as a point sidesteps the question.

Shawnee quietly went 6-5 last season playing one of the easiest schedules in the Louisville area. However the fact that they did achieve a winning record is a great accomplishment with respect to the historic mediocrity they have had. Two of their five losses came to a strong Central team who Shawnee played close in the first of those match ups. I'll predict Shawnee for this one.

What I'm trying to tell you is that your offense really doesn't have problems.

I expect the X defense to win this game.

I don't think Highlands people quite realize that they faced a good defense last week. I wouldn't be surprised if they throw a much bigger number up this week.

In my recent viewings of teams over the past few years I've come to the opinion that there is no longer a speed gap between X and anyone. Sure some teams might have a specific speedster but in terms of overall team speed they match with anyone.

He was our top receiver last year and definitely our best weapon right now. As the rest of the team improves, especailly if we gain consistancy in our running game (which had glimpses last night), I think he could have a great year. If he has to carry the team by himself like last night all season it will be very tough on him.

I know your kind of joking but it is different because I had information I wasn't supposed to have. Calling out the sweep as it is going on is to inform players who can't see.

Last night during the Highlands Manual game, a Manual punt pinned Highlands down inside their 5 yrd line. During a timeout I was standing behind the endzone and listened in the best I could as the Highlands coach spoke to his team, thought I heard the Highlands coach say QB sneak. Now I was less than 50% sure that is what I heard and I didn't want to mislead our defense by putting there focus in the wrong area, so didn't yell "watch the QB or anything like that". Lo and behold Highlands runs a qb sneak for a big gain and I'm left with the feeling like I let my team down. So my question is this. Had I yelled QB sneak I would have effectively been stealing signals from Highlands, would that have been unethical from a fans standpoint? There is nothing to guarentee that the Manual players would have listened to me but it is possible that I could have influenced the game as a fan. Would that have been an acceptable thing to do?

I got the score from the WDRB website (may need further confirmation) Good start for the Bruins, I had been told PRP was going to be tougher this year but we shall see.

It should be fun season figuring that out.

I will say I'm a little surprised here. I thought it might be a closer matchup but I can't say as though I know much about this years Etown.

Got back from the game. This is my first time seeing Highlands in person and I will tell you the thing impressed about them was how little fat there was on the team. Your program and coaching staff should be very proud of how fit a team you put on the field. I also thought they played with a great deal of class, which I feel is another testament to your coaching staff. I knew our offense was not going to look pretty in this game and the turnovers and penalties showed that to be the case. This Manual offense will get better over time, the improvement I saw from the first quarter to the fourth tells me that we can become okay. I still don't think we have enough weapons to be a great threat but we may not need them. I was very happy with our defense, especially our linebackers I really thought they did everything they could to keep us in this game. Manual always has good defenses and Highlands fans who expected a 50 point game were simply not appreciating the task ahead of them. It was one of those games you leave wanting to see a rematch later in the season when both teams are playing a little cleaner.

Thats a possibility that I'm prepared for. Even if such a thing should happen I want to see Manual fight throughout the game and learn what they can. It is going to be a tough season and a lot of these players are new so there is a lot of potential to improve as the season goes on even if this matchup doesn't go our way.

I wouldn't be suprised to see PRP rise while Seneca and Fern Creek drop.
