Congrats to all of these fine young men.

It is irrlevant who played who and how often and where at, blah, blah, blah.... It doesn't matter who anybody had to go through to win each title or how often it happened. The bottom line is that T won more championships this decade than anybody else in the state. That makes them the team of the decade IMO and does not take away anything from any other program that has success the past ten years. Trinity's was just a little better.

Congrats to AC. Very great career and will do well at the next level.

The folks I think I might see on there from Fort Campbell include: Offense QB - Antonio Andrews, Sr. WR - Chris Allen, Sr OL - Anthony Topps, Sr Defense DL - Anthony Topps, Sr LB - Derrion Crank, Sr DB - Breeon Moreno, Sr DB - Tre Powell, Jr Just what I am thinking, but I am sure that not all of them will be selected.

Why is this mindboggling. Look at his numbers for the year. He missed quite a few games and did not put up the numbers to support being nominated. As far as ND goes, it could be possible. Recruits do have a tendancy to change their schools when the coach that recruits them ends up somewhere else.

Once again, congratulations to the entire Falcon football community. A great job by some great athletes and great coaches as well as some great support from the fans. BTW Bill, Tim's comments to you remind me about the the "Your teams punishment is a Falcons practice" shirt.

I never said just stats, I said stats help judge football for the year. But what leading rusher in the state was left off of the list? I didn't see anyone off the list that was the leading rusher so I am thinking that I might have missed something.

What do you base the current year on for football? The only thing you can base it on is the play which comes down to stats. I am sure that all of these folks meet the citizenship (which is hard to show) and academics (GPA) portion, although I do know at least a couple in the past who would not have been considered to favorable if academics carried to much weight.

^^ my source is all of hte articles and such that I have read on previous MR Footbal awardees in the past. None of them that I can recall have ever mentioned career stats being used in the decision of Mr. Football. Google some of the previous winners and you will see what I mean - career stats are mentioned in some of them, but the primary reason was the current (senior) year. I am pretty sure that if a career was in the consideration of this, then Collingsworth would have been on the list as his career was a great one. The only justification there can be for him not being on the list this year is his stats were not up there with everyone else.

In the 2A game, I thought the officiating was pretty good. A couple of missed calls on both sides, but not enough tomake a difference in the game IMO.

I think if you combine the stats as a a total player, just as I do when looking at the other players (from the stats that I have seen anyway), then he is the better player than those that you mentioned. Although the three rings are impressive, and the more important thing, this is not judged on the career, but this season. There are a great number of players on the final ballot, and some that got left off it as well, but I think that Antonio is slightly ahead of the others.

St. X would win this. Only supporting factor is that they are a 6A school and according to all of the posts concerning Mr. Football, the higher the class the better the football. So I am using that same (wrong) philosophy here.

Obviously, those that make the nominations say his year was not good enough and if his career was what the award was for, then he would have been nominated.

The difference must have been on the DeSales side (although they did seem to have a good size following at the game). Fort Campbell had many more at the game this year than we did last year as we had more people NOT deployed on game this year. For that matter, some of the folks at the game had just gotten back Friday morning.

I don't think you do get it. While AC is a great player and has some great potential at the next level, so do many others in the state that are not on the list. Mr. Foootbal is not about a career, it is about this year and his numbers just do not reflect the greatness you are talking about this year. The award is not cheapened by his absence in the opinion of most people, otherwise he would have been nominated and been put on the list. You may not have meant it as a slam on other players, but that is what you have done. I am sure that he has deserved all of the accolades he has recieved, but I seriously doubt his name kept him from getting a nomination. If that is the case, it could be said just as easily that the reason he got the others is because of his name and this is the only one that looked at it objectively. Although I do not believe this, as I do believe that AC is a great player and he has had some great accomplishments inhis football career thus far, and I am sure that there are many more to come his way in the future. As far as green goes, I only see it in you, which is why you are so upset about the lack of him being nominated. You are so blinded by green that you cannot see the accomplishments of these other young men. Just my 2 cents.

I was kind of surprised how hard it appeared for the Falcons to slow the run down, but they slowed it enough to win the game in the second half so some adjustments were made that helped. DeSalles has a very good team, as shown by the fact that they are the only team to be ahead of Fort Campbell in any games this year. There offense moved the ball pretty good and their defense slowed down not one, but tweo 1,000 yard rushers considerably. Their DBs did a poretty good job preventing some deep passes too. I was kind of disappointed that the fans could not go out on the field with the boys after the game as we have done all year long for some final words from the Coach Berner and staff. It would have been nice, but I guess it was okay because our young men got it done. Congrats again, Falcons.

Great win for the Falcons making it three in a row for the forst time ever in 2A (for those that did not know). Good job on all of hte hard owrk all year and a good job by the Falcons coaching staff on making these young men champions and great people. Way to go guys, a very appropriate way to honor Tim Williams.

Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, & WKU have shown interest and Air Force has made an offer. Congrats to Antonio and good luck to all of the Falcons this afternoon.

If he was so unstoppable, why didn't he have 234 rushing TDs and 13 TD receptions, one for each time he touched the ball. He is stoppable (scored on 16% of his carries, and 15% of his catches - what happened to the other 84-85% of the time). He is a great athlete and hard to stop, but he is stoppable - the numbers show it (unless he willing went down on his own or rat out of bounds a whole heck of a lot.

I agree that AC was and is a very versatile player and has a great impact on his team and the program there. But Mr. Football is the best football player of the year, this year, not over a career or what they did the last 2 or 3 years. Whether we like it or not, that is how it ends up.

I actually thought he would get nominated as well, but I did not really know his numbers were that far off from some of the others even with missing the four games. As far as sitting the second half, quite a few of these guys have done that (from my understanding anyways) which makes you wonder what these guys could have done playing full games all year long.
