I think FC will be in excess of 50 and CC will score 7 late in the game. I believe that Fort Campbell continues to dominate on both sides of the ball during this game.

Watching news out of Nashville, it looks like a lot of the games in TN were pretty wet too, at least in the middle TN area.

Fort Campbell finishes the season undefeated. Now if they can just complete the playoffs the same way.

Here are the numbers - they don't lie. 2008 649-165 point for/against 5 Shutouts 1 loss to Warren Central (7-17) (a few of the starters did not play) Closest game was with NCC 26-23 for the state championship 2007 578-221 point for/against 3 Shutouts 2 losses to Graves County (41-48) and Warren East (27-52) Closest games were with Paducah Tilgham (23-20) and Bardstown (28-20) 22 game winning streak during 2007-2008 seasons 2009 (after 9 games) 499-60 point for/against 4 Shutouts Closest game was with Pearl Cohn, TN (36-13) Only two teams have scored more than once Current 14 game winning streak during 2008-2009 season You can not control the level of competition when a schedule is made a year or so in advance, but even if Fort Campbell is not playing anybody (it is not like they are playing small unranked teams, they try to schedule bigger schools that are good to make them better), they are still getting the job done. The result is two state championships and we are hoping that they will get the third.

Just my opinion, but I disagree. I think having the one best football player in the state is far better then have 6 best football players in the state. Besides that, it lets us have all this fun in discussing it on BGP.

I agree, the big trophy for three in a row will be the best accomplishment for the Falcons. The individual awards are nice as they recognize some great young men that do outstanding jobs, but the best award of all is the grand prize given at Bowling Green.

I agree that all of the right players are on here. At this point, I think we could put them in almost any order and have a chance that it would be right.

I know and understand this, but it will not stop me from thinking that it should not be this way. And it still does not prevent me from wanting more information on some of these outstanding players.

Don't know about the rest, but this one was. He had a great career with Fort Campbell at both Running Back and Linebacker.

I am not saying Antonio is any better than Reese. He does barely plkay on defense. The point I was making is that he does more than just play one position. He is a good passer, a good rusher and plays decent on defesne as well as kicking and punting. I support this versatality by posting all of the numbers I have for him when I mention him. I just wish everyone else would do the same (that's all I am trying to get - information).

I was not implying that Rees was a one dimensional player or trying to discredit him at all. I am sure that most of these guys are not one dimensional, I am just trying to say that sharing the numbers for the whole player, not just rushing or passing. The original post just said McShara, nothing else to go with it to support it. I just like to see supporting evidence when someone puts a name up there.

I understand waht you are saying and I believe that many people think that way. But even as you said, "The Kentucky Mr. Football Award is an honor given to the top high school football player in the state of Kentucky and in the KHSAA." I just do not see how the top HS football player in KHSAA is determined by being the best RB or QB in the state. The best player should not just be the best in the only position they play. For example, a great RB that also is a really good LB, is a much better football player than a great QB who does nothing else. Granted this is just my opinion and since I do not get to see all of these young men, just as most of us on this site don't, I look at the stats to help determine who I think it should be. When someone only puts up numbers for rushing yards, it leads me to believe that they are a one dimensional player. In fact, I am sure almost all of them are doing something else that could support their position as the best football player in the state. When you don't have numbers or anything to go by, this is hard to tell.

Although I believe Rees is a great player, how do you support this. I know and understand he has had a great year (and career) but what has he done. As I said in the previous post, IN MY MIND, Mr Football is for the best football player in the state, not just the best player at a certain position. What else has he done well at. All I ever hear about him is his rushing, that is it. The school doesn't provide stats so it is kind of hard to see anything about him when we do not get to see him play.

After nine partial games, Antonio Andrews stats are: 9 wins, 0 losses (Still undefeated as the Varsity starting QB, 23-0) 52/76 passing (68%), 892 yards, 17.15 ypc, 15 TDs, 1 INT 78 rushes, 1098 Yards, 14.08 YPC, 22 TDs 3 PATs 225 total points (passing, rushing, PATs) [135 points rushing & PATs] 7 Solo Tackles, 2 Assisted Tackles (not including #’s from Week 6 vs. Warren Central) 1 Interception He has also done some kickoffs/punts, but I do not have any numbers on those. His rushing numbers puts him in the number two spot for yards per rush behind Dontay Spillman (Valley) 1997 (15.0 ypc,1,557/104) on the KHSAA list, not knowing exact numbers of what any of these other outstanding athletes have done this year. On a side note, Antonio has achieved the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the second regular season in a row and I would like to see him do the same with passing yards as well (needs 108, but that might be hard with the rain coming that is expected tomorrow night). He had a combined 2197 in the regular season last year and added 1331 yards (679 passing, 593 rushing and 59 receiving) in the playoffs. But I know, we are only looking at this year. I honestly think that Antonio is one of the best all-around football players in the state, if not the best. He has done well on both sides of the ball and well in a variety of spots while only playing about 18 quarters of ball. My vote is still for him until I see someone that does as well in a variety of positions because in my mind, doing well in one position does not make someone the best football player in the state, regardless of stats.

Coach Berner will be the new Head Basketball coach at Fort Campbell, Hopefully he can bring a turnaround to the basketball program and get it to the same status that he has brought to the football program.
