That is good for us in the west, Louisville was just a long boring drive from Fort Campbell. Hopefully the Falcons will be making a return appearance while it is so close to home.

This is so true. I firmly believe this is one of those reasons why Fort Campbell has been successfull the last few years, the Falcons starters put the team in a position where the younger guys get the needed experience in games, which helps out a bunch for later in the season in the event of injuries or for next year.

This was not running up the score. Look through some of the teams records over the last few years, and not just these two. Look at the various classes and districts and you see scores like this quite often. As long as you do not have the starters in the game the whole time, it is not running up the score. The second team, JV or freshmen, whoever is playing gain a great deal of experience from being able to play. They should be able to play just as hard as the opposing team. If one team has an issue with this, go back to the practice field and correct the mistakes that were made.

They did seem to have more penalties on offense than they typically have, like I said, it was Kenwood's best defesne the first half. Aside from those though, they were nearly perfect.

This would have been a better game 2 years ago when Kenwood made it to the playoffs and FC went to and won state. But Kenwood did lose a bunch of its players, besides the 11 on the field, I still only counted 18 on the sidelines. Not a very big team for a larger school.

Kenwood's best defense the first half was the penalties that the FC offense got, but they still overcame. I think they scored on every possesion except for a couple and those were all in the last quarter from what I remember (but my mind is not what it once was).

It was nice to see the Fort Campbell bleachers full again since most of us are back from our deployments. Most parents will be able to watch the entire season this year before they start heading off on the next trip over there. CPA presneted their jersy #73, signed by their team, to the parents of Bill Williams prior to the game. It was a nice gesture on their part and was appreciated by the entire Fort Campbell community. The first half was a fairly close, but the Falcons got it going strong in the second. Some of the younger guys got some experience towards the end of the game.

He may have been on back to back championship teams, but C.J. Kropf was the quarterback the first year, so it may not of had the impact you all are talking about, not trying to take anything away from him. And I was in Iraq, so I am not sure how much he played in that game.

Congrats to the Falcons for another state title. Congrats tot eh Breds as well for another great season. It was a long drive from Fort Campbell and I was getting worried toward the end of the game but the falcons made the drive worth it. It was a good game and it was great to watch it.

That is slowly changing as it is going to pick up more and more non-training units in the near future.

I will have to do some research, but I think there are 2 more, a navy bawse and a marine base that have DOD HSs as well.

Josh Carter (Fort Campbell) has already committed to Western Kentucky. They started trtying to get him after last years state championship game and he committed earlier this year.

Maybe it has something to do with having that extra round in the playoffs. you know the one where all of the 0-10 teams get stomped on again. We really need to get rid of that round.

This will be the first trip I am making to watch the game in Louisville as I was deployed last year so I am wondering are there any type of restrictions of what can or can not be taken into the stadium.

I have to agree. As much as I have faith in FC, I have to admit I was getting worried the way it was going back and forth. Great game for both teams. Congrats to FC and good luck to them next week. For MC, congrats on a great season and we would love to see you have another great season again next year.

If we can get FC to play like Josh Carter did on this drive, they would be good. But they are not and time is running.

It was nice to be at a Falcon game for the first time in almost two full season and I want to say good job to the team. The Aces deserve an attaboy as well for playing well too. It was a FC - OC rivalry game that I expected it to be. I was surprised at FC's play during the second half. As many other have noted, I think they got into coast mode a littel to early. Additionally, I think part of the problem in the 4th may also be contributed to the idea that most of the Varsity that was still playing may not have been in shape to play a full game, as they really have not done so this year. I hope this is not the case as they will be needed during the next game. As far as teh other problems that arose during the game, I am sure Coach Berner and his staff will make the needed adjustments to be ready for Monroe County.

This same format could be used for all sports. If they really want a chance to earn the state title, they need to earn it during the regular season.

I remember a while back (before I went to Iraq this most recent time) there was some good discussion on the districting and playoffs and I jhave had quite soime time in the desert to think about a plan and wanted to see waht you all thought about it. To me it makes sense and eliminates that first game that we currently have that does not do much to increase any competition among sports. 1. Have as many classes as KHSAA decides is needed to maintain competition within each class. 1A to either 4A, 5A, or 6A would work well. 2. Do away with regions and districts. 3. Create eight conferences within each class with anywhere from 6-10 schools in each conference. Schools would have some say as to which conference they belong to in their class, but the state provides oversight to maintain some balance with the numbers in each conference. 4. (As a side note: original schools in the conference selects a name on for the conference, i.e. Louisville Metro Conference) 5. Regardless of the size of the conference, two teams qualifiy for state. 6. Conference champions are seeded 1-8 for the playoffs with seeds 1, 4, 5, and 8 on one side of the bracket and seeds 2, 3, 6 and 7 on the other side. Conference Runner-Ups are automatically placed in the opposite side of the bracket and seeded against a conference champion for the first round. In doing this, no teams from the same conference will play in the playoffs unless it is for the state title. This also reduces the odds of playing the same team in the first or seciond round each year as the seeding would constanlty change based on records and position within the conference. Some extra travelling may be required, but if it is to much, a neutral site can be used. For those that like the extra game that the first round of the playoffs gives, this creates another week where a game could be played during the regular season while preserving the playoffs for those that have shown they are the better teams throughout the year (it eliminates just about every team in the state from being able to say "we were good enough to make the playoffs" when they clearly were not. I have seen similar systems used when I was growing up and moving around and it makes me wonder why no one on the KHSAA has thought about a system like this. Let me know what all of you think about it.

This will be the first game I get to see this year as i have just returned from Iraq and I really do believe that FC will win this one and hope to see them go to state again since I missed it last year. I think that many are not realizing that OC held the Falcons to 20 points (and yes I know Andrews was not his self that game) during the last game and this is one of those rivalries that could go either way each time they play. With that being said, I still pick the Falcons 28-10.
