Fort Campbell led 50-0 at halftime. Running clock in the second half.

Kenwood's best defense the first half was the penalties that the FC offense got, but they still overcame. I think they scored on every possesion except for a couple and those were all in the last quarter from what I remember (but my mind is not what it once was).

FC special teams ran wild tonight, the 2009 State Champion Track & Field team really showcased their speed. The little Kentucky 2A team really layed it on a big city school south of the border.

Almost mistake free football in the first half for the Falcons. However, FalconBacker.....I wouldn't call Clarksville a "big city school"......JMHO.

Later.

Let's be honest here. Kenwood lost 14 starters from a 2-8 team and a few more kids with the opening of the new high school nearby. They aren't good. Kenwood is the equivalent to a Muhlenberg County or Ohio County, although Ohio is a little better this year.

That said, 41 yards allowed on 34 plays is impressive for this defense coming off last week's effort.

Compare the student body population and you will see there is a great disparity.

This would have been a better game 2 years ago when Kenwood made it to the playoffs and FC went to and won state.

But Kenwood did lose a bunch of its players, besides the 11 on the field, I still only counted 18 on the sidelines. Not a very big team for a larger school.

They did seem to have more penalties on offense than they typically have, like I said, it was Kenwood's best defesne the first half. Aside from those though, they were nearly perfect.

Great job Falcons!!!

Can you be stopped? Time will tell, but for now it looks like your on your way to 3!!!

You are right, they aren't good. Every school in Clarksville / Montgomery County Tennessee is busting at the seams; they can't build schools fast enough. With a population around 120,000, there are plenty of talented kids to play football! FC isn't the only school with Army kids on the team either, LOTS play for Clarksville schools. Clarksville, TN should be a football Mecca.

The difference is Coach Shawn Berner; he out-works, out-coaches and out-classes all his neighboring coaches. That is how he continues to garner the success he and his coaches have at a little 2A school like Ft. Campbell.

Sounds like a tecmo bowl score... Was this game played on a Nintendo with Bo Jackson at RB?

You'll get no argument from me about Coach Berner and his staff.

Clarksville has never been known for its football. It's like Lexington. Big numbers, little results.

We may get a better game from Pearl Cohn next week. I believe they only slipped by Clarksville North East 16 - 7 tonight though. We watched them play in the Vandy 7 on 7, they have athletes just probably not as well coached as FC. They reminded me of Paducah Tilghman; cupboards stocked full of athletic talent, just not much on recent results.

Good stuff.
