Just seen that, and they had Rees McShara of Boyle Co. listed. Also have John Shoemaker of Garrard Co.,the only two players listed from our area.

No players are on the list from Danville.Lincoln Co.,Mercer Co.,and Casey Co.

Wow!!!!!!! Like to know how many coaches responded to this survey. Either the talent level in this state is the best that it has ever been or the coaches are the most naive. How in the world can NATIONAL recruits DeMarcus Smith(Seneca) and Jon Davis(Eastern) not be on this list. Both have multiple scholly offers as JUNIORS.

Really suprised at some of the names. HL must have not got many responses.

Congrats to the local Mountain Kids, Watts, Moses and Watkins.

This list is a joke...Bryan Hynes(on the list) of Fern Creek is currently the second string QB on his team. DeMarcus Smith of Seneca is a national QB recruit and not mentioned. Daylen Hall of ST.X also was not listed and he may be the fastest DB in the state and will play D1.

Congrats to the local Mountain Kids, Watts, Moses and Watkins.

Also congrats to these other Mountain kids...

Jordan Amis, Perry Central

Channing Fugate, Breathitt Co

Jade Haddix, Breathitt Co

Chris Muse, Pulaski Co

Thomas Varney, Belfry

Congrats to Antonio Andrews of Ft. Campbell for making this list. A player from a small 2A school in Western Kentucky has to be truly exceptional to get noticed by the KY media.

Antonio is the real deal and should be in the mix for "Mr. Football".

Yes. I should have recognized all the mountain kids, not just the local ones. Sorry. Congrats to all!:thumb:

Smith from Seneca is out for the season, so why would he be included on the list? Sure he was the top rated Qb prior to his injury, but if he's not playing he shouldn't be listed.

I know Dale Mueller knows his X's and O's but how in the world can he say that Austin Collinsworth has an "NFL" body? I don't know of too many 17 year olds who have an NFL body.

I'll take Tim Patterson as the best player in the state, he is a beast on the defensive end of the football field.

I agree. :thumb:

Not taking anything away from Andrews, because I've seen him in a few games and know he is an outstanding player, but if he had not been on back-to-back state championship teams, he would have had a much more difficult time getting noticed.

You are exactly right, no dig on Antonio taken. The fact is that the KY press doesn't cover much of anything that happens in Western KY, especially at the 2A level. To get noticed by a Lexington newspaper speaks volumes about how far FC football has come. The majority of the media coverage is on NKY, Louisville, & Lexington, which is understandable because that is where the KY population base lives.

FC football started getting on the map with Marcus McClinton going to UK followed by Micah Johnson the next year along with Leonard Gordon to Notre Dame. I believe that 2006 is the only season FC hasn't had an All-State player since McClinton broke through the barrier.

Antonio is for real, no hype with him. He will be playing at the D1 level next season - just may not be at QB. Glad you got the opportunity to see Antonio play; we will miss him after this season.
