Who wins the state championship? What will be the keys to victory for both teams? Any intangibles that could effect the outcome?

^^Coach Shawn Berner, same as last season.

I have to go with Fort Campbell on this one. I remember reading elsewhere on the site that the NCC team this season was virtually identical to the team that played in the championship game last season, if that's the case, the Fort Campbell Falcons are a different team, stronger, faster, coupled with the drive to repeat, they should take this close game.

Wish I was there, but I will definitely be listening in on this one.

Later.

The Breds will have to be able to pass the ball better than they did against Corbin if they expect to win.

I'm curious to know what the prediction thread looked like before the last seasons @A title game.

As I'm sure you know Bill, last years prediction thread was probably heavily in favor of NCC. You'll be hard pressed to win a prediction thread against a NKY team. Just go out and prove 'em all wrong, again.

I remember seeing Micah Johnson play LB at Ft. Campbell and thinking he was one of the best I had seen play in Kentucky, IMO #57 is better, he's everywhere and everywhere in a hurry...
As for Andrews, he has to be a candidate for Mr. Football next year...

Prediction threads mean nothing, it's a popularity contest when two even teams meet. NewCath is not a mirror image of itself. I believe that anyone who has played them in the last 10 weeks will tell you that they are much more physical and run-oriented than last year. It will be a great game. I'm taking the boys down next week. Hopefully I get to watch some of it.

I know that prediction threads mean nothing, i'm curious just the same. Curious to see if some of the same things were said regarding how the game was going to go compared to this year's match up.

Again, I'm looking forward to listening to the game........

Newcath has a-lot to prove after the disappointing loss to Fort Campbell last year in the state finals. I expect senor quarterback Robby Kues and running back Mark Kelly to run the ball effectively against the falcon defense and even against number "57".

Newcath wins its third state title in five years!

On the highlights on local TV NCC looked slow, really slow. I am pulling for FC in this one.

I believe we are going to have another outstanding match-up between the 'Breds and Falcons. A year has passed since these two teams walked out of Papa John's and now they will get it on again.

The Falcons shouldn't sneak-up on the 'Breds this year. NCC knows that FC can roll with any of the teams in N. Kentucky. FC has nothing but respect for the NCC program and their accomplishments.

This is going to be a good one! It may take some OT to get this one settled!

I am taking FC by off all things - a Field Goal kicked by our soccer player turned place kicker.

I think the Breds get the Falcons this year. Kues and Kelly are both a year older, stronger, bigger, and faster and I doubt they want to end their careers with back to back losses in the state finals.

I think NCC wins this one in a close game, scoring late to put them ahead and their defense holds on the last drive of the game.

How come this is like a thread within a thread? I thought there was already one out there that the voting reflected NCC being the favorite.

^I just noticed this too. It's weir

I think this is the scenario that best fits this years Breds. They have dominated games late, which does not mean they dominate FC late, just the fact that in a tight game, I believe NCC has the ability to distance themselves in the final quarter

I believe every team in HS football has one or two of these now.:thumb:

What was said. I obviously means from this comment that their must have been some disrespect? Explain

I like the way you put that.....you believe NCC has the ability to distance themselves in the final quarter. I believe the very same thing with FC. They've done it throughout the playoffs. With OC, they built up a big enough lead in the first half and kept adding to it in the second; granted, OC scored more than the Falcons would have liked. Now, most recently in the semi-final game, they did the same thing against Monroe County. Down at half time, and while Josh Carter was on a mission defensively, the defense stepped up to allow the offense time to put more points on the board and distance themselves from Monroe County.

With that said. We both know that neither one of us is going to convince the other of anything different. Let's just hope the game is as good as everyone thinks it will be.

What was said. I obviously means from this comment that their must have been some disrespect? Explain

I wasn't a member here last year, so I just wanted to read the variety of opinions on HOW NCC was going to beat FC and vise-versa. I don't know if there were any disrespectful comments or not. I was just curious.......to see if some of the same stuff was said last year that's about to be said this year.

^BW70, I think it will make for an outstanding finish. I feel this is the best match-up of the 6 games to be played.

I too think this is the best matchup of the state finals...two excellent teams that could probably play with anyone in the state regardless of class. NCC has played 5 games against 5A and 6A schools and has wins over two other state finalists - Beechwood and Simon Kenton. That is one heck of a resume. Yet Ft. Campbell is definitely the favorite to win IMO. Rematch of last year's game. Last year NCC was favored similarly to how Ft. Campbell is favored this year. This is going to be a GREAT game.
