Fort Campbell is mostly in TN. However, the Post Office is on the Kentucky side of the border due to some politicking that went on long ago, so it's named Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

 

There are housing units on the TN side of the border, but that doesn't really change the fact that it's still KY. But, to answer your question.....yes, some of the players (technically) live in the state of TN.

 

As far as Andrews being named the Titans Player of the Week......the Titans just recongnized him for being a good high school athlete (with a great performance) in the general area....it has nothing to do with which side of the installation that he lives in.

Fort Campbell is a military installation on Federal property, it doesn't belong to TN or KY. As Bill Williams stated, the Post Office and the 101st Airborne Division headquarters are on the KY side of the post. Fort Campbell has a KY zip code, 42223. There are housing areas where the families and players live throughout the post both on the KY and TN side of the line.

 

I have no idea how long Ft. Campbell has been a member of the KHSAA, but it has been a very long time. The Scribe would probably know the answer.

 

Antonio Andrews was named Tennessee Titans High School Player of the Week a few weeks ago. Ft. Campbell is served by the Nashville, TN media market. The Ft. Campbell military community has received great support from the Tennessee Titans & Nashville Predators NHL team.

Not sure what the point is to the actual game BUT....

 

Actually what most people don't realize about Fort Campbell, is that all the Students MUST live on the actually Army installation of Fort Campbell in government housing to attend FCHS. Bill is correct to say the the installation is large and it covers across part of TN and part of KY. And yes it has to do with the Post Office location believe it or not...BUT ALL OF Fort Campbell even the ones that live on the TN side, have a Kentucky address. So technically they all live in KY! And the school has been established as a KY school.

 

Just another tidbit: To be a part of Fort Campbell High School all students have either a Mom or Dad that is currently serving their country with a Fort Campbell military unit. Which makes them different. Realizing that the team this year is a rebuilding year from last year, but that next year will be one again...and so will the next and etc. Every year Fort Campbell has a certain percentage of it's players transferring in and out of the school due to military movement. This next year's movement will be another high percentage due to the fact that 3 BCT's just returned to Fort Campbell from a 15 month deployment and another two Brigades are due back before the end of the school year. And another Brigade is currently deploying out as we speak (QB's dad's unit is in the process of leaving). So their is constant movement on Fort Campbell, and it always affects our students. BUT FCHS always finds a way to overcome and re-teach and be strong year after year!!!

 

So your question about do they live in TN, many probably call 48 other states home instead of KY or TN, but this is where they currently are.

I would estimate that it was in either 62 or 63 since Coach Patterson coached the Fort Campbell team for 32 years and retired in the early/mid 1990s.

Yup, Fort Campbell is nothing like Ft. Thomas and Ft. Mitchell. It's a military installation that's home to the only Air Assault Division in the world, the 101st Airborne Division.

I will have to do some research, but I think there are 2 more, a navy bawse and a marine base that have DOD HSs as well.
