Congratulations to the Falcons from all of your supporters over here in Iraq. We are proud of all you have done this year.

Not just the dads get to listen. There are many followers of Falcon Football over here cheering the team on. We appreciate the support the community and everyone else has given us while we are away.

I listened to the game on webcast over here in the desert, it sounded like FC did quite well in the 1st quarter or so but seemed to lose some momentum in the second half. If Metcalfe had a few more minutes it might have made a difference. Good job for both teams and good luck to the Falcons next Saturday.

When I came to Fort Campbell in the early 90's I thought the setup in KY was a little wierd. and now it seems even crazier. When I grew up in Oregon, we has 4 classes and each class had 8 conferences. Each conference sent 2 teams to state for a 16-team field. Each conference champion was seeded 1-8, and the conference runner-up was placed in the opposite side of the bracket (seeded with 3 other runners-up against a conference champion). The only time you saw a team from your conference was in the state chapmionship. This was the basic format they used for all sports back then, but I understand it has changed since then. This sounds better then what we have now. I do not see any reason why so many teams feel that they should be competing for a state title. If they want a chance they might need to play a little better during the regular season to make sure they get a spot. KY is worse than some of the pro sports (NBA) that sends nearly everyteam tot he playoffs. Just doesn't make ense to me.

Befor I left to come back over here to the desert, the visitors used gate 7 due to the gate 4 Closure. It actually makes it a little easier getting to Fryar Stadium by coming into Gate 7. In addition to what was posted for the driver, be prepared to have picture ID for anyone that is 16 or older, they may not ask for it but the guards at teh gate have the option to do it.

I don't like it. It makes some of the games meaningless. Go to fewer classes and increase some of the competition inteh districts. District titles should be determined by the season, not how they are doing playing each other again in the playoffs. What is worse is the way the playoffs are set up. Go to 8 districts and take the top two, put them in the opposite sides of the bracket (if the two teams from teh same district meet inthe playoffs, it is for the championship). More than half of the teams in the 2A playoffs are 5-5 or worse overall, with 10 having a 3-7 or worse record. The playoffs should be competitive and should not inlude every team in the state (except one). It makes the season longer than need be and costs teams and the state more money than need be.
