Trinity Rocks Team of the Decade

Featured Replies

Trinity High School has set the bar to a level we may never see again. In the decade just completed, 2000 - 2009, the ROCKS won an amazing 7 out a possible 10 state championship titles. In 9 of those years, they played in the championship game. Even more impressive, they compete in Kentucky's largest big school class. They clearly established themselves as Kentucky's Premier Football Powerhouse. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and the entire Trinity family.

I agree, but ....nope I'm just not gonna do it.

Amazing.......................

The five from Highlands and Boyle County are more impressive ...

To me Boyle County is far and away the most impressive. Their program came by far the furthest from any of the other programs. Not to mention they did this in a town of 25,000 people where another state power presides.

Trinity's run is impressive, but doesn't suprise me one bit given their advantages.

OK.

Even more impressive, they compete in Kentucky's largest big school class.

That isn't more impressive, that is just common sense. T has one the largest populations of males in the state, therefore, it isn't impressive at all that they are doing it in the correct classification.

20 state champions out of 10 years with a possible 8-12 teams at the State Title Game each year, that is what is NOT impressive. Roughly 90 teams.

A whale of a decade. It's interesting that it mirrors Beechwoods in the 1990's. Wonder if there's someone waiting in the wings to do it the next 10 years.

Does there not seem to be a little insecurity with these types of threads? "Hey Trinity your team is good, we all are aware of that." If you wanted accolades this time of year you should have won last Saturday.

Let me get this straight. Posters just like you can go on and on and on ad nauseum, extolling the virtues and accomplishments of schools like HHS and X among others, but when someone from Trinity points out ours, you don't like it. "Trinity Forever"

I agree with the premise of this thread. It's the end of the decade and Trinity has been the best team in terms of winning games and titles this past 10 years.

But Boyle is not too far behind going 121-20 on the decade despite having two years (2006 and 2007) of going 6-6 and 5-7. Along the way they won 5 state titles in those 10 years. They finished runner-up another season and lost by 2 in the semi-finals still another.

Highlands finished 107-34 officially (on the field they were 119-22) and won 5 State titles.

I salute Trinity for what they did in the 00's and also the other 2 programs that weren't too far behind in what they accomplished. :thumb:

Trinity's run this decade has been amazing and they definitely deserve to be called the "KY Team of the Decade." It addition to winning their state titles, they also had some big-time wins against quality out-of-state opponents, had a player (B. Brohm) who was national offensive player of the year (at least I believe he was), and had the distinction of beating a team (by a wide margin, no less) who went on to win the Ohio big-school state title that same year (Elder, in 2002). Plus, they had a top-five final ranking in the USA Today for one of those years (2002).

Thanks for the nice posts from the HHS camp. My thread was not started to diminish the accomplishments of other programs in any way. HHS and Boyle had a tremendous decade, and it looks like they are not going to stop anytime soon. I salute all of the teams on the list and can't wait for next season to start.

Ouch...that hurt

Agree. Congrats to all the other programs as well. We are just a little bit proud of ours.
