What number is the O'Day girl? Oh, and who is #12? I was seriously impressed with this girl when I saw her playing in the finals at the Bluegrass State Games. Is she new this year? I didn't recognize her.

Newport was planning on attending, but a problem with registration kept them from playing. :cry:

I could be wrong, but I thought to be eligible, there must be a legitimate change of address into the new school's district. If they do not change residences, then they will not be eligible for the upcoming season at the new school.

I don't know much about football from a coaching standpoint, but I always thought that coaches shared videos with one another. Is this not standard practice? And if so, why the need for the team to film it themselves?

I've also heard Bellevue will be there. Can anyone confirm that?

I am pretty sure that school nutrition programs are designed to sustain students through the remainder of the day in case they are not provided a proper meal for dinner--which I fear is an all too common occurrence for many students. Just something for people to keep in mind when considering the calorie content of school meals. I also agree that school meals are very well balanced. Now whether the students actually eat their fruits and vegetables is an entirely different matter.

I don't know anything about this game other than what has been stated in this thread. But I kinda see it like you see it. :thumb: How can it be unsportsmanlike for one team to not enter the field, but not for the other?

Yep. I know where you are coming from on this subject and I agree wholeheartedly. IMO, the reward of exposing athletes to opportunities to play outside the region far outweigh the risks involved. From this trip alone, our girls will get to tour a college campus, get a chance to see what "dorm living" is all about, be able to bond with their teammates in a way that is not possible by practice alone, and be exposed some quality teams that we normally wouldn't be able to play against. Sounds like a win-win to me. :thumb:

Yeah. I can't imagine this actually happening, but it sure would be a shame if the tournament is cancelled because too few teams registered. I know our girls are really looking forward to staying on UK's campus and playing in the tourney. I just hope there are enough teams to put on a quality tournament.

Yeah, I heard about Ilg brothers leaving--not sure what impact they made in football, but I know they were an integral part of the wrestling team. Unfortunately, another big loss for Newport. I didn't hear their reason for leaving. Hopefully, they weren't "shopping" for another school and their transfer is due to a legitimate change of address. I'm sure the KHSAA will make sure of this before declaring them eligible for the upcoming seasons.
