Just curious, but what do you think that money goes towards? I may be wrong, but I'm assuming at most schools it goes back into the general athletic fund, which in turn will get spent on the kids. Though I favor seeding for many of the reasons stated in this thread, I do understand how a couple extra thousand bucks for getting to regionals looks good to a small school when considering the costs of equipment/uniform purchases and officials fees. Just a thought...

Was this game played yesterday? I thought both of these schools were closed due to the weather.

I didn't realize that this draw had already taken place. I support Newport in this district, but agree that this matchup in the first round is the reason why I wish there was a KHSAA mandate for seeding.

Regardless of tonight's score, I agree that scheduling some of the top-ranked 9th region teams will pay-off when the post season rolls around.

Yep. Big reality check here for the Panthers. Though, I cannot lie. I was hoping for an "any given Sunday" (or as the case may be "any given Saturday") outcome here. I guess the availability of talent in an NKAC DI school wins out yet again over the DIII, small school, talent pool. :cry: Maybe one day...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that there is an Indoor Track banner and a Softball Conference Champs banner currently hanging on the north side of Ludlow's gym. The line about it being a "basketball" gym is a cop out. Have you approached any of the board members about it? I know there are a few "friendly" board members now that I'm sure would love to get your team the recognition they deserve.

What!??? How is it possible that I be so sarcastic, yet not be able to recognize a sarcastic comment when I see one? I actually thought he was being legit. I must say I was confused about the two 6'2" girls comment. That should have tipped me off. I just thought it was not a very clearly written post. Guess I'm just naive and think that people would rather root for a team than root against other teams. Forget him (or her) then. I still say GO PANTHERS!!!!!!

I also would see this as an opportunity for the non-starters to get a chance to work against a press. You can practice a press-breaker all day in practice, but nothing compares to getting to put it to use in a real game situation.

I was at this game. Ludlow looks pretty good heading into the All "A".

I know Ashley joins Kassi Wofford and Abby Froehle in Ludlow's 1000 point club, but I don't think either one of those girls holds the school's all-time scoring record. I'm not sure who the leading scorer is. I'm pretty sure it is someone that had the record long before I started following Ludlow basketball.

I'm not familiar with your show. What channel can I hear this on? What time?

Yeah, I was looking at the brackets today. The bottom bracket definitely has all of the stronger teams represented. I agree that the "championship" game will likely be taking place in the second round. That happened a few years ago when Dayton landed a trip to the finals and then got killed by Holy Cross. I see a similar situation ocurring this year.

Wow. Sounds like this would have been a great game to watch. I'd be interested in hearing some game details too. I think Ludlow and St. Henry match up in the first round of the All "A", so I am hoping that Ludlow can beat St. Henry again real soon in the tournament. Great to hear that Ashley scored her 1000th point. Wish I could have been there to see it.

Yeah, I do remember the lighting being pretty bad. I'm not a fan of Bellevue's lighting either.

Is Henry County the gym with the scoreboard hanging from the ceiling at the middle of the court? If that's the one I'm thinking of, yes, that is pretty cool.
