I like Dayton's gym. I saw it for the first time this week and was impressed.

Thought this game would at least be a bit closer. Go St Henry beat NewCath..

If you like Dayton's gym, you'll love Newport's. They're spittin' images of one another.

Villa came out in a zone to start the game, but increased pressure by St. Henry forced many turnovers by the Blue Lightning as the Crusaders opened up a 10 point lead late in the first quarter. Villa came back with a Blake Hamilton three pointer that was countered by a Derek Adams trey for St. Henry. St. Henry’s pressure and 4 three pointers helped build a 18 point Crusader lead after the first eight minutes, 28-10.

Stephen Love scored his 1,000 career point on a basket with 5 minutes left in the half. Stephen is just the second Blue Lightning player to reach the 1,000 point plateau. St. Henry extended their lead to 23 with 2 made technical free throws by Cameron Speed. St. Henry continued the scoring barrage and ended up the half up by 22, 48-26.

The third quarter saw the Blue Lightning come out with a bit more intensity as they cut the lead to 18. Some nice rebounding by St. Henry extended the Crusader lead to 24 with 2 ½ minutes left in the quarter and 25 going into the last eight minutes, 65-40.

The 4th quarter saw St. Henry extend the lead to 33 at 75-42 with under 4 minutes to go in the period. The Crusaders held Villa Madonna to 5 points in the 4th quarter and finished the game with a 80-45 victory.

St. Henry will advance to the 9th Region All “A” Classic finals tomorrow night against defending champs, Newport Central Catholic.

St. Henry pounded them on the glass. Also was very impressed with their defense. Literally I watched a couple times and thought to myself how textbook a lot of their defense was. It was exactly what it is supposed to look like. Also have been impressed with St. Henry's ability to play in a running game or in a half court game. Just a very disciplined talented fundamentally sound team. Oh yeah.... They are pretty fast too... Someone near me made the comment "Do you think the coach times their 40 before he lets them on the team?"

Dayton's was the only gym in NKY that I had not seen.
