Hey I'm confused. Fastbreak said that Robbie Barber had 14 in the second half against Utah and Handy Mandy listed Barber as having 8 points for the entire game. What gives? :idunno:

I remember reading on here last year that Barber had taken visits to Old Dominion, East Tennessee and Witchita St. Scott Co. will be fine as long as he, Ivey, and Manning are there.

Absolutely! Everyone in the Ashland area knows what went on last year. . If anyone believes for a second that the address they provided for the KHSAA were correct they are nuts.

I have been told that the KHSAA is investigating Fairview for providing false address for several transfers. Should be interesting.

I loved Elliott's team but come on SV won the State Championship.

The Coach of the Year and all other 16th region awards are a joke. It's a good ole boys network. Theres probably some around the region that think Charlie Baker is stil the coach. If you need proof OJ Mayo was snubbed. Thats right the same guy that was all state and a future lottery pick could win the regional player of the year. Theres not more than 2 kids at East Carter that could possibly enjoying playing the way they play. If you go to Rupp let it rip.

I for one am sick and tired of 16th region coaches taking teams to Lexington and see how little they can score. Outside of Elliott Co. the past three years 16th region teams simply try to bore the opponent and crowd to death. Brandon Baker is the new Steve Dodd. I feel sorry for the kids at East.

How many years has Biggs been at Ashland? If he has only been there three years then you have to consider how dominate Elliott has been.

Which Coach Cooksey? There seems to be about 10 of them and each think they are in charge. You would think with 2 head coaches one of them would have figured out a way to get the ball to Terry at least once in the second half.

I believe Betsy Layne feeds Betsy Layne. Just a guess.

I have to admit the question was a head sratcher.

Looking at the box scores in the paper it appears that Skaggs had a nice tourney. It is odd to see a player from the runnerup win the award but given the circumstances mentioned it is understandable. Hall also had quite a tournament for Glasgow.

Don't forget the Hunt kid at Russell. They had another big lanky left handed kid but he may have graduated by now.

They also had a kid named Davis that I think would still be around. Also I believe East Carter has a couple of Rose Hill kids, Bair and Robinson.

Don't forget Camron Hall.

Outside of Billman, Hall, Anderson, Barnett, Ramey, Coldiron, Gearheart, Russell, Maynard, Allen, Farrow, Wiley, Smith, Alderman, Taylor, Martin, Jenkins, Douglas, Sublett, Hendrickson, Ward, Sparks, Lewis, Gillum, Helo, Maddix, Johnson, Conley, and a couple of others that are retired, blind, or dead. Bob Kouns is the best official in the 16th region.:thumb:

For the record the same kids won the region for 3 years.

I'm sure you are correct, academics probably were not the issue. Trust me on this in 2 or 3 years it won't matter. The age difference now has an effect but it will go away in time.

Why does anyone care? It's a parential decision, if the parents think its is best then so be it. What is interesting is some of the posters in this thread believe a parent has a right to choose whether the child is even born but shouldn't have the right to choose if said child should repeat a grade.

You need to spend some time in Indianapolis because I can tell you 15 kids from there that were held back. One being Mike Conley Jr.
