I'll throw out a few that won't get noticed because Moore High School isn't really known as a football powerhouse: Jalen Miller, a sophomore who is vying for the QB position will also be playing wingback and on defense will be the middle linebacker. Miller will never come off the field. He has great vision as a QB, speed to make people miss and strenght to run people over if need be. DaQuan Boyd, freshman wingback who is a playmaker in space, great speed and makes people miss will also be playing cornerback on D, for being 5'9 the kids hands are huge. McKale McKay aka "Tex", freshman is about 6'3 180 will be playing QB, WR, n FS, the kid will hit you in the mouth and loves to block as a receiver. Big, strong kid that can go up and get the ball over anyone. These 3 kids should put some life back into Moore football and make expectations higher if you ever get a chance to come out to Moore check these 3 out there going to be special.

I think Maronde plays for Lex Catholic and by rule Maronde can't pitch till Sunday because he went 5 1/3 against Harrison Co. and that equals 6 innings pitched and he would need 3 days rest to be eligible. I'm pretty sure if Catholic wins we'll see Champa pitching in the finals. I think this is PRP's toughest opponent in this tourney and I think Miller pitches Cox cuz like you said the last 2 years they've been eliminated in the semis. I like PRP in this one but it'll be close two very good ball clubs going at it should be a classic.

It's PRP's tournament to lose this year. A lack of focus will be only thing that will keep them from their goal this year. Their pitching from top to bottom is stacked and your 1,3,4,5 hitters are all D-1. Osbourne and the Bainers were hitting solid during the regionals and Cox was dominant on the mound as was Trey Harper and Kris Sipes I just don't see anybody beating them this year. But who knows one and done state tourney anything can happen we just saw CAL shock the world.

Great ballgame all around how about the kid for CAL freshman pitcher Mitch Wiley throwing slow pitch baseball up there I loved it. He had a sneaky fastball, an eefus pitch and the knuckler. He was crafty in his ability to get the job done and Eichberger finished out with 3 strong innings. This CAL team continues to amaze me they don't have any "aces" on this team but with change of speeds they continued to get it done. I really believe X was the better team hands down in a 3 game series X wins 2 out of 3 at least but that's what I love with one and done format anybody can win. CAL is fundamentally sound with good hitting, small ball aproaches and great coaching like someone said in another post Bill Gray is a magician.

I think your wrong you know... First Fern Creek if it wasn't for the error by their shortstop in the 6th they win that game 4-3 because I know Burkett comes in the 7th to shut them down it was just one play that killed Creek and Williams pitched a great game against CAL if they won you would of said great idea by Durham for pitching Williams and keeping Burkett for the Trinity game. 2nd Butler wasn't going to win that game 2day Alphin was just better and Tingle would of probaly held them to 2 or 3 runs and he probably wanted to keep his defense in tact cuz Tingle is a hell of a shortstop. 3rd Either way Ballard was just overmatched in that game why aren't you talking bout X not throwing Amlung oh that's right cuz they won I forgot. Plus I hear McCombs isn't their ace anyways but either way St. X was just the better team why would Ballard even think about throwing their ace. 4th I think Hohmann pitched pretty well for Trinity but if they bring in Rueff before Griffin I believe they win that game but Im not doubting Coach Tompkins because he knows alot more than I do. These teams aren't looking to go home after 1 win and be happy they are trying to set their teams up to be successful for a long run in the tourney it just didn't happen that way this year so shut up bout coaches being wrong they did what they believed was the right move for their ballclub.

If Tompkins really wanted to he could of used Stephan for 4 innings against CAL because the rule is he can pitch 9 in a day and he only threw 5 aginst Manual 2day.

Great ball game Amlung is as dominate high school pitcher I've seen in a while.

Well it was awful umpiring 2nite, I couldn't really tell you what a strike was since it varied from inning to inning. I don't believe Deeds should of been ejected from the game after the shove at 2nd base that involved the shortstop Shutt. I'm sorry the umpiring was pitaful for both sides alot of questionable calls and I don't think the umpires knew what was going on. Anyways for the game Paul Hohmann started for the Rocks and went 3 innings being pulled for Kyle Griffin who went I believe 2/3 then after Griffin came Rueff who finished the game out with 3 innings of scoreless baseball. Griffin took the loss for the Rocks 2nite after giving up 4 of the 5 runs in the 4th inning after Trinity lead 7-3 going into the bottom of the inning. Trinity hit the ball hard but it was right at CAL the whole nite it was one of those nights Trinity couldn't find a hole. As for CAL they started Justin Weiss, a little lefty that threw a fastball, knuckleball and the occasional eefus pitch lol. After Weiss started the 4th, Eichberger came in and didnt get an out hitting Berry and then Roney in the head and walked Bowling with Deeds up Eichberger threw the ball into center on a pick off throw then Kinney, CAL's center field threw it into Trinity's dugout so Trinity went up 6-3 then Andy Wood for CAL relieved Eichberger and basically shut them down the rest of the way and received the win except it got a little tense in the 7th where with 2 outs walked 3 straight batters but got Andrew Bowling to strike out on a 1-2 pitch. I mean Trinity hit him pretty hard but right at center each time. CAL used small ball with about 4 bunts singles that were placed beautifully each time you couldn't asked for any better placement. Very exciting ballgame and this will be CAL's first regional championship game.

Trinity won't have a cake walk, Manual is a very good baseball team that can beat anybody in this region especially with a one-game elimination anything can happen. Fern Creek will have to make a decision on whether to pitch Burkett against CAL or try to escape with pitching Williams and saving Burkett for Trinity. I don't know if you remember Burkett shut down X to only 1 run in the game. Ballard/X should be a classic and Eastern of course got the lucky draw with playing Whitefield and being able to save their top 3 for the rest of the tourney. It will be interesting to see how it turns out it should be an exciting week of baseball at Jim Patterson.

Dogg has has a lot of problems in house that many of you were probably werent aware of. He's had letters sent to the board from parents that wanted him fired because he was yelling at the kids to much. About the level playing field I think he's upset with the district alignment where it sent Ballard into his district because Sexton, at Eastern didn't want to play Ballard every year in the district tournament. But we all know Atherton is closer to Seneca then Ballard is, which doens't seem fair. With the fact of recruiting, private schools and the public schools with the money getting better facilities to attract kids how can you say the playing field is level. Look in the past 10 years it's the same 4 or 5 teams competing for the 7th region and when Seneca had a shot to win in 2004 they had to load up for that one year and go a pretty nice draw with playin Jtown, Eastern that only had 1 pitcher in Slovak then they played Trinity and we all know that outcome. There's no way the field can ever be level so I see were Dogg is coming from that. Sorry you Trinity/X fans that think the field is level those lower public schools don't reload every year they have to rebuild for 1 good season every 5 years.

I dont think Cox will pitch since he pitched Saturday against Bowling Green.

What about the Rueoff kid from Trinity how much difference is he from Stephan and Littrell?

Did Matt catch during that game? If he did that catcher had a very good arm and who pitched for them was that their ace? I was also impressed by your shortstop quick hands with a quirky delivery though.
