All the Catholic schools have a leg up on the publics........we only serve HOLY WATER.

Of course they do but don't cheer about that or Coach Bolden from Colerain will come storming out of his Waterboy huddle to yell at the fans...

Highlands basketball team is off to a rocky start because 4 of their waterboys are also on the football team's water squad. It will take them a while to get into basketball shape, but once they do, look out. I'm just glad that these boys are not only allowed but also encouraged to carry water for other sports.

Before everyone jumps down my throat, this is not going to be "PC", but I'm not going to hold back on what I have to say. The Waterboys at Bellevue have got to be the worst! The fat, chunky kid is always two or three steps behind and is never prepared. I know of a couple of games where the coaches caught him watching the cheerleaders during timeouts and he barely made onto the field before play resumed and another time he was filling bottles from the hose on the sideline, this is totally uncalled for IMO. Then the tall, skinny kid, that walks with a limp, he is absolutely atrocious and has no business being on the field. Spilling water all the time and looks sad running on the field, up and down, up and down. It's a shame the once proud tradition that is Bellevue Waterboy has slipped to such a "sad state of affairs". Hope the incoming classes have some promise.

Well, we all know the problem there is that new coach they brought in.

As everyone can plainly see from the attached map of Kentucky rivers and lakes, there is water pretty much all over the state. I see no reason why we can't have the waterboy state championships in a more central location such as Louisville, Lexington, or Richmond. I think it is just horrible that Northern Kentucky waterboys have to travel all the way to Bowling Green every year!

Well I think it is an important point. Everybody knows that the success of Northern Kentucky waterboys is due to their use of "river water" as opposed to "mountain water". The quality of the water and amount of water available is so much better in Northern Kentucky. It shows in the results year after year at the waterboy state championships. I just think that it is unfair to ask Northern Kentucky waterboys to "hold their water" for 3 hour plus bus rides.

As a Northern Kentuckian, I must say that the far Western part of our Commonwealth has far more water than we do in Northern Kentucky and after visiting in that part of the Commonwealth for years, I still can't understand why they don't dominate!

 

Just think, the beautiful Ohio River to the North, both the Cumberland and Tennessee rivers run through the middle, forming the Kentucky and Barkley Lakes and to the West, the Mighty Mississippi. Talk about an abundance of available water....yet they don't dominate!!! What gives gentlemen?
