January 10, 201214 yr Both teams have one loss on the season to one another. LSU won the SEC championship game while going undefeated in the SEC.
January 10, 201214 yr I still think there should be a playoff and hate how they use opinions to determine who should be in the title game. However with the system the way it is, Bama is the Champion and should be the Champion. So to answer the question no there should not be a split.
January 10, 201214 yr Not a chance. Dominating performance. LSU doesn't cross the 50 til late in the 4th. Wow. Once again, defense wins championships.
January 10, 201214 yr Nope. The BCS Championship is the College Football championship. If we're not going to acknowledge that, because it's not perfect, then we should just go back to the old way and have a handful of National Championships, like before 1998.
January 10, 201214 yr No. I hate the system but if it is accepted by member schools then Alabama should be the National Champion. LSU benefited from the system 4 years ago when they were named Champions with 2 losses, this time they are victims of it. I do believe Alabama was the best team in the country and that the BCS did manage to put the 2 best teams in the final game. However, if we are to believe the BCS when they say that "the regular season is our playoff" then Alabama should have suffered what was equal to an early round knockout when they lost to LSU earlier and been eliminated from playing in a rematch. I say this as a big SEC fan who has nothing against Alabama--I just hate the BCS.

Alabama more than proved they were the best team in the country last night. Do they need a playoff? You bet they do!

Except they play each other and one team wins in OT. Then the team who beat every other tough opponent 60-0 should not be in the title game because it is a rematch - despite the fact that they are clearly the only team with a chance to beat the undefeated team?
January 10, 201214 yr That Bama defense was one of the best I've ever seen. Add that to putting up 21 on arguably the 2nd best defense in the country and I think they deserve the title.
January 10, 201214 yr No way, Alabama's win last night was too dominant. I also don't see a way of splitting it with the current system if they don't want a playoff. If they do split it, it makes the door wide open for it.
