Wow, talk about being close in rushing statistics. Regardless, both had incredible careers as runningbacks. McCarron was enormous in last night's game; definitely deserved the offensive MVP.

If Saban stays at Bama until retirement, there is no telling how many titles he will win.

Well even though I hated how the title is determined on opinion on who plays for the Championship. I did think Bama would win this game, and that they did. Complete domination.

LSU crossed midfield once.

I'll say this: Congrats to Alabama, they dominated.

 

A couple quick notes:

 

1) That had to be the least prepared any team has ever been for a bowl game in the history of college football. It makes me wonder if Marvin Lewis was game planning for the LSU offense. What moron thought centering the game plan around Jordan Jefferson running the option was a good idea?

 

2) That was far and away the worst and most boring national title game I've ever witnessed. I struggled to stay awake during it. If that's what an entire year of college football cumlinates in, I completely understand why I'm losing more and more interest in the sport every season.

I didn't find it boring. I can appreciate a dominating defensive performance.

Do not forget the 11-2 performance when OU won the title. Despite the boring game, those are some high quality players. Best in the country on both sides.

 

I HATE when teams attempt to run the option. As a football guy, the option is extremely challenging to defend... when it is part of your offense. Miles' ego got in his way. I do not think Lee would have done any better, but it was worth the shot.

 

In recap. LSU arguably played the most challenging schedule in college football history. Each team they played they were simply bigger, faster, and stronger than. Alabama was bigger, faster, and stronger than them.

I would love to see the Alabama defense play as a unit vs an NFL offense...LSU tried a little bit of everything, but when you can't block a team, you can't move the football. LSU couldn't block Alabama. There is an old saying if you can't block em' option em'...however that was the option was often run into the boundry and was too slow developing.

 

Last night was BIG BOY football as Les Miles said before the game...I would have loved to see Oregon or OKL State, or WVU go against the Bama D...it would have been just as ugly.

Congrats to Alabama - well deserved. They showed up and LSU did not.

 

I fell asleep at halftime; when I woke up some infomercial for mint uncirculated state quarters was playing.
