I think we have a little thread drift going on here but it is interesting.

Lot's of love for the Augusta gym, seen a lot of posters mention that one. IMO it looks like the old Feds Creek High School gym. Floor, balcony, and lighting much nicer of course but laid out exactly the same. Anyone else seen the two and think so?

^ My favorite gym to shoot in--Augusta, that is. They've done a lot of work to the place & it looks really, really good these days.

I know it is closed now, but Whitesburg's gym was pretty cool.

I remember when you committed a foul, you had to raise your hand, if you didn't it was a T.

 

For the record, I didn't commit that foul....it was the refs mistaken call.

Although I like the Arena at Montgomery County, I have some great memories from the Barn in the 70s. Packed houses with Montgomery, Bath, Clark, and Mt. Sterling at district tournament time. The bands in the corners playing as loud as they could. At one point, I remember Montgomery County switched to a jazz band with a brass section, electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Awesome atmosphere!

The roof on the OLD BARN always amazed me becaused it seemed so high at the time it was built and how it was built.. It was one high dude.

My favorite all time gym to watch a game at is Mason Co.

The one I refered to happend at the State Tourney in Fredom Hall on Saturday morning with Lee Co playing Seneca. The Lee County player was called for the T and they lost in OT. Glasgow won the state that year.

 

I remember Lee had a big center that was pretty good. Can't recall his name.:sssh:

I think Bracken's old gym was set up where the bench was the first row of the bleachers. I remember knees in my back.
