I would think Riverside Christian in Breathitt Co. Back in the 60's the floor was concrete.

One of the gyms I played in with a personality was the old Nicholas County gym. It had about 7 rows of bleachers on both sides, and it always seemed to be darker than normal in there. Made it feel like the crowd was right there on the bench with you.

 

The old Gym at Nicholas is very dark. I love the new gym, very nice size for a smaller school.

Not an easy find but Heritage Academy, stands only on one side. Pretty small. I know of several years Heritage had the states most profecient scorer in both girls and boys basketball.

 

 

And those stands only go about 8 rows deep with the entrance to the gym splitting them in half. It's the smallest high school gym that I've ever been in.

Awsome paNDA. As you can see,only one row of bleachers around the gym. Believe they still use it today. Yes the shorts were short then. Lots of things have changed since then. I remember when you committed a foul, you had to raise your hand, if you didn't it was a T.

Need to go back to raising hand , the game i was at last night the refs would call a foul and then did not know who they called in on, maybe it was because they were being graded by there boss made them nervous ,only in the 16th.

Probably because role players would lie to keep the star from fouling out. Was it ever an official rule anyway, or just a courtesy/honor thing?

It was a rule. Saw a T given in the state tourney when a player raised his hand, and then swung it hard coming down. Guess he was upset he made the foul.

Didn't see the earlier post, and didn't realize that. Guess it was abandoned sometime before the early 80s, because I remember players doing it, but not always, and never seeing a T called in relation to it. Certainly wasn't ever something coaches instructed us to do in practice or before games.

The one I refered to happend at the State Tourney in Fredom Hall on Saturday morning with Lee Co playing Seneca. The Lee County player was called for the T and they lost in OT. Glasgow won the state that year.
