Personally as a player, coach, fan....I hated Holy Cross. Talk about a place with Home court advantage.

 

 

 

Villa as seen from the outside and also from the inside. The glass windows on the lake make it virtually impossible to play during the day.

 

I would cast my vote for the Finn at Holy Cross. I only make it to Holy Cross for the Cov. Cath. game and District Tournament games so it it always packed to the rafters. Great atmoshpere. Clay Eiffert goes out of his way to insure a friendly and hospitable welcome.

Saying Brossart is a place with personality is a joke. Like said before you can fill the place with an 8th grade game. what gives it the personality? The 500 you can squeeze into it or the 600 you can cram into the lobby to watch the games on tv? St. Mary's barn has more personality than Brossarts gym.

 

Thank God my kids have moved on to different leagues and not have to play there.

The Mason County stage at the Fieldhouse is a great seat unless you are sitting behind DeMarcus Cousins.

I always thought Holmes was a gym full of personality... entering the campus with iron fences set the tone... and Jack Jennings finished it off.

 

Mason Co is an awesome venue.

 

Marshall Co is pretty sweet.

 

Augusta is my favorite old school gym.

 

The wooden dome at Western Hills is also pretty cool.

 

The gym at Wetern Hills creates a VERY loud atmosphere.

In the 12th Region, I always enjoyed trips to Somerset and Monticello for their old-timey feel. Bardstown has that as well with their set-up, but I hate the poor lighting and yellowish tint everything has to it. Marion County's "RobyDome" is neat as well, but their lighting is also awful.

 

I would have to agree about Somerset and Monticello. I loved playing at Somerset. Monticello has a great atmosphere because it is so small and their fans are right on top of you. They have a newer gym where they practice.

That was the best game (10 Regional final GRC vs Mason County) I had ever witnessed until last years 9th Region final (Dixie vs NCC). Two of the best high school games ever.

Yes it is Betsy Layne. Now that looks like personality to me.

It is Marshall County and it seats 6000. Not the largest in the state so who can name the gym that holds 7000?
