I just want to clarify: I have no sympathy for anyone except the victims in this whole mess. But I'm a person who tries very hard to look at things from all angles before making any judgements on anyone, especially when I have very little information. And with all that's been written and said in the media, the reality is, there are a plethora more facts that we don't have.

 

So, my position that I don't believe that Paterno was deliberately trying to cover anything up, or that he deliberately didn't do what others feel he should have done, has nothing to do with sympathy for Paterno. It has to do with trying to understand the situation as it was occurring. We have the benefit of quite a bit of information after the fact. What's missing is what Paterno actually knew of Sandusky's past at the time of the 2002 incident.

 

It's easy to make a judgement from the 38,000 mile view, and with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. I simply think that before Paterno is condemned to hell, we need to find out more about his actual breadth of knowledge.

 

I also wish there were a thread somewhere discussing all the other scores of people dating back to the 60's that contributed to the perpetuity of Sandusky's heinous behavior.

As stated on ESPN by an attorney, it's much easier to fire the head coach and the guy accused than the others. Their time is coming.

I can tell you without question if I was in his position and the only info I had was that he showered in my facility with a 10 year old boy he would never step foot in my facility again. If I also knew he ran a foundation for young boys with troubled backgrounds I'd be wary of having him do youth football camps with these kids and bringing young children to practices.

 

When we find out how much he knew and when it will be a lot worse is my guess.

Clean house--including every person with any "stain" of this crime. That is the only way that is in the best interest of current and future Penn state students.

The AD and another Administrator were charged with perjury and failing to report about the allegations.

Enough for what exactly? Sandusky is not up for debate but there are tons of other issues out there it seems. One thing that bothers me is the missing DA and the hard drive that was erased. Sure would like to know what all that involved.

Probably because he knows there's a lot more that could potentially come out.

Enough to render everyone guilty. JoePa had to know this, the President, the AD...etc. That is not normal behavior. It's enough to tell someone that they can no longer be associated with your program and institution. It's enough to tell someone they are no longer your friend. It's most certainly enough to get everyone that turned a blind eye fired.
