I don't think it will mean anything as far as Kentucky football goes. Anyone who actually follows the national rankings knows that there are only 3 teams from Kentucky that ever sniff the rankings. T, X, and HHS...mostly T. If Trinity doesn't lose and wins the state title and they stay #1 (which isn't gauranteed even with the state title) then they play in a weak state. If they mess up and lose then it was expected. Until Kentucky can put more than one different team in the rankings on a regular basis it's still a basketball state.

Anytime the public schools can be competitive with T and X it is good for KY football. No different than anytime anyone in Highlands' class can be competitive with them it is good for KY football.

 

Right now there is very little or no hope among a lot schools and that is bad for KY football.

 

Im positive if T was to drop a game it would be Nov. 19 to X not a public school.

To have another KY team defeat the nations #1-ranked team would be a feather in the hat of football in the Bluegrass. However, it might give the pollsters pause the next time a KY team was on the doorstep of being voted #1.

 

Even if it was X? who was 16 in the nation in 2009.

I agree, which is why I believe it would make KY look even better.

It would be bad for Kentucky football. Trinity just got ranked as Rivals #1 team. Has any Kentucky team ever done that? How many comments will this ranking bring on a national level? A Kentucky team rnaked number one?

Don't get me wrong. Every opponent of Trinity should shoot for the stars and try to beat Trinity. But overall, I think Kentucky as a state gets more positive publicity is Trinity ends us number one.

If Trinity loses this year, we're all in trouble ... it's a sign of the apocalypse. :lol:

Even if it was X, who, although coming off a nice win over #85 Cincy St. X, is not in the top 100 nor in the "others being considered" list in 2011.

Personally, I couldn't care less where Trinity is in the national rankings, and I'm not sure how many fans around the state care, either. All we know is that we're going to see Trinity crush everyone in their way en route to another state title. Some may be fascinated by seeing the best team to ever play in this state, but I suspect the 6A final will be one that draws less interest than most or all of the rest.

Personally I dont see T stumbling it would mean 45 different players having a bad night, but I think it would be good for KY football if a team played them close and both teams being competitive. I really want to see Ky football move up and that will take a lot.
