Well somebody needs to support St.X Tiger Mom on her post that Mattingly is the better QB..... but it's not me.

Mattingly's legs and quick thinking (and heart) gave the Tigers something to cheer about, and moments of hope. Subtract Mattingly's rushing yards and the trio of backs (that were all supposed to be better than Dawkins) had about 65 total yards). Really, aside from Mattingly [and the Marine's chin-up challange award] there was nothing to cheer for on the visitor's side. One could argue that Mattingly does more for his team - because he has to (he's like their tomahawk missle). Wright is more of a field general managing Trinity's weapons of mass destruction. As has been said... you keep yours, we'll keep ours. Everybody is happy.

To be fair...St. Xavier was superbly impressive for a half. We dominated the second half. At this point, I'd love to know the true pecking order of KY supremecy is this year,

Uhhh... I'm pretty sure Trinity is tops in the Bluegrass this year. Am I missing something???

Season not over Manual has speed and that could be a very close game for both X/Rocks. Opps wrong thread.

A few thoughts. As I expected, the X team fought hard the whole way. I have to disagree with Mike Glaser. His team didn't quit on him. The X fans on the other hand were a different story. A lot of them didn't bother to show up at all. Most of the rest were gone by the end of the third quarter. I find that inexcusable. The way I look at, as a fan I don't get to quit until the team quits. The Trinity coaches made good half-time adjustments and took away the only offense X had in the first half. I look forward to seeing you guys again in November.

I am torn on this question, Who is more upset by Trinity dominating: Public School Coaches seeing Quick-Dawkins-White-Hatcher etc. carry a team or CSAA kids thinking, if this recent trend continues like this they will not be able to play a skilled postion except maybe QB at Trinity ever again?

 

Yes, X has a few but not close to what Trinity is putting on football and basketball court.

Nope not kidding. You probably are misinterpretting my post. I never said he played poorly, he played well but I would not say this was one of his better games, ie a top five performances.

 

I made this comment based upon St. X Tiger Mom's comment that she would take Mattingly over Wright ANYDAY which if someone were to base that judgment over JUST yesterday's game, that may be a fair assessment since Mattingly played my guess one of his best games ever whereas Wright put out a good performance but no means one of his best therefore as support to my statement that over their entire careers, Wright has been the better QB.

A question for the T fans. Was I the only one who felt that Trinity was not stretching the field much with downfield passing? Numerous passes were screens where the receivers were able to gain yards after completion (especially James Quiick) but it did not seem like there were as many attempts downfield as Trinity usually does and when the did, they seemed to be out of need ie. third and long or time running out in the half to reach the endzone. Just curious if I was the only one who wondered this. AllTell and RP would probably know betther than I do since they are closer to the coaching staff than most.

It was pretty windy last night. Could have had something to do with it. I was nowhere near the field level, but where I was sitting there was a lot of wind.
