After a tight first half Trinity came out and executed in the second half on both sides of the ball.

James Quick was the difference through the first 3 quarters and the defense shut them down in the second half

Massey predicted the score to be 40-12. Their ratings seem to be realistic. I was very impressed with the intensity given by the X players. Trinity is very overwhelming in the second half, as shown in Cincy St X and Cathedral games.

some brief stats:

Wright - 17-23 - 252 yards

Quick - 2 carries 19 yards, 36 yards passing w TD 155 yards 2 TDs on 8 catches

Dawkins - 21 rushes 131 2 TDs

Mattingly - 105 after half 94 1 TD rushing 143 yards passing

Trinity St.X

first downs - 10 3

offense - 449 304

Quick also became the school's all-time receiving leader if the T stats crew is right, amazing given the young man is still only in the middle of his junior season.

Great players and coaches sums it up nicely !!

Mattingly is a beast! I thought he had some REALLLY great passes, but he's even more dangerous when he keeps the ball. EXCELLENT play by Mattingly. I thought the X receivers played well, really going after their catches, and even laying it all out there on some that were difficult. I thought the X team as a whole played very well. Hatcher was covered very well by X, giving Mattingly a good chance to make plays. Great defensive plan, IMO.

I really, really, really, really wish Trinity could get their penalties under control, especially the personal fouls. I saw Quick commit the first penalty I think I've ever seen of him, and it was a completely avoiadable personal. I'm all for agressive, but they've got to get more disciplined. But other than that, I have absolutely nothing to be disappointed about. Great half time adjustments, and new focus in the 2nd half by the Rocks. Great big plays were a big difference maker in the 2nd half.

Go Rocks!

Really ? Just kidding . Nice win Rocks , keep on Rollin !!

Very impressive second half by the Shamrocks. I don't believe X got a first down that half until well into the 4th quarter. That has been T's M.O. of late: strong second halves after lackluster first halves.

Attendance was around 33k.

That would be generous IMO.

I must say, I really liked Quick's pass to Wall! I was totally not expecting that!

Good game for a while. Trinity is great with Quick and Dawkins. Tigers are good too (Mattingly is SOLID) but don't have a 1-2 punch like those 2. They are difference makers, period.

See you in few weeks.

I did not like seeing all the personal foul penaltys. I hope both coaches find a remedy for that nonsense.

Impressed with the way X came out of the gate on offense. Mattingly played a great game. Some of his receivers didn't do him any favors. There had been some bragging on BGP of the X stable of running backs. Were they there tonight? Missing the fg and red zone fumble are things you cannot do. Trinity did not seem all that fired up to me. Did anyone else feel that way? Maybe that was by design, as next week vs Manual is a biggie. Anybody have stats on yards penalized???
