Mizzou is staying, but WVU is once again tooting their own horn long before they are even close to SEC membership. They are way down the list with Mizzou not an option, and even if it gets to them they might get passed. If they turn down the Big 12 thinking they will get the SEC dream invite, things might get a little crazy in Morgantown.

 

UConn is pretty unstable as well at this point. I can see them eventually getting in to the ACC, but BC is doing all they can to keep them out.

 

Rutgers is going to end up somewhere stable, be it the ACC or eventually B1G.

 

My info has not changed on UC and UL. Could blow up at any time, but everything points to them being added to the Big 12...

It most certainly would. Unfortunately I am not sure if the SEC is going to try to get a team from the ACC as aggressively as I initially thought...

Actually I have to do a 180 on my previous statement. Talked to a very connected source today that said Pitino is 100% against a move to the Big 12 and could very well retire if UL makes the jump...

 

This might be a question with an obvious answer, but is Rick's disdain solely because he prefers the East to the Midwest? Is this all about geography?

 

Is there friction between he & Jurich, or is there a respectable difference of opinion?

 

Big 12 would be a great move for UL, because at least it has some sense of stability, whereas the Big East is a dead man walking. Doesn't Jurich have some connections with some Big 12 higher-ups?

^ It's hard not to understand his disappointment. I feel it too. It's a move that will prove necessary, but not one I'm excited about. Syracuse and Pitt already destroyed the best basketball conference ever assembled. It will be VERY difficult to compete in football. Some sports, like soccer, are just going to be out in the cold since the Big XII doesn't sponsor them and will likely have to take a step down to join a conference like the MAC. And if nothing else, Louisville has little in common with Oklahoma and Texas like it does with Cincinnati or a lot of the other urban universities in the Big East.

 

Jurich, Ramsey and the board will ultimately make whatever decision they think is best for the University of Louisville going forward; I just don't believe it will be as good as what we've lost.

As a WVU fan, some of you on here have not clue as to how "most" WVU fans are. We are passionate about our school just like you are yours. While Morgantown may not be the best college football town, Starksville is not that appealing either. Just an FYI, WVU was recently named one of the top 100 universities in America academically. Now that Pastilong is out as AD, we have a very respectable AD in Oliver Luck who will continue to look out for what is in the best interest of WVU. Also, President Clements, is also well respected as well. Now that Barney (Bill Stewart) is gone as coach, Dana Holgersen will again take the program to where it was when Rich Rod left. I would personally like to see WVU in the ACC, I think not only can WVU compete there, but also win that conference as well. That would keep the Back Yard Brawl game on a yearly basis and restore a rivalry with Va. Tech. I would like to see us in the SEC as well, while we wouldn't win the conference until our recruiting becomes better, hopefully it would help in that department. I would also love to see us play Bama, just so we could bring Nick home once in a while.

 

Here's what I don't understand and would love for someone to explain this to me. Why is football driving this bus? Why is Basketball not in control? Just wondering and have never heard an explanation for that.

Money? Basketball doesn't make any money? Basketball will have 15 to 17 home games compared to 5 or 6 for football, plus, I mean the NCAA Tourney has a multi-Billion dollar contract.
