October 28, 201114 yr ^ There's a rumor circulating on Twitter that $21 million will buy Pitt an immediate exit. We'll see if the same rumor starts circulating about Syracuse and WVU. Will only be allowed if the Big East gets to 12 teams going forward. At this point I expect that to happen and the 3 departures to pay their way out and the money will be split among the football and basketball schools remaining right now...

Basically outlines the divide between those who want the Big XII to stay at 10 or 11 teams and those that want 12. Definitely takes a good look at the Big XII stability problem, also known as Texas vs. Everyone.

Is it possible that they could go to a 14 team league with all 14 members football/basketball? You'd never find a way to get all those basketball founding members to let go of the Big East name without a huge fight. I also don't think it's that big a problem. The problem is that it was never very viable as an 8-team conference and during these last five years, they never got very proactive.

November 1, 201114 yr ^ The first round of this lawsuit has the potential to be really dumb. All three judges in the Monongalia Circuit Court hold their bachelor's and juris doctorates from West Virginia University.

Do you think the suit is for show to placate their fans and the Big 12?

November 4, 201114 yr Just to keep updating, in today's episode of "As The Conference Turns..." the Big East Conference filed suit against West Virginia for breach of contract. So it goes.
