September 18, 201115 yr This is going to be crazy. Sounds like Texas is headed to the Pac12. UConn trying desperately to get into the ACC. How much will the SEC expand? They sit at 13 right now. Will they be content at 14? Virginia Tech? West Virginia? Missouri? What does the Big Ten do? What does Notre Dame do? Does expanded conference schedules kill rivalry games? No more A&M/Texas, UK/UL? Me being a bigger college hoop fan more so than football is sad to see this happen. No more Big East Tournaments. Ironically, the day Dave Gavitt died, so did the Big East.

September 18, 201115 yr No more Big East Tournaments. Ironically, the day Dave Gavitt died, so did the Big East. The Big East will survive as a basketball league with the 8 non football schools and additions like Xavier. Will not be quite the same, but GTown/Nova/Marquette/St John's/Xavier as the core is not a shabby basketball conference...

They don't bring a power TV market, they do nothing to increase recruiting footprint and they will struggle to stay above UK and Vandy in the football standings. That and just wait until SEC fans make the trip to always hospitable Morgantown. I see zero benefit in adding WVU in terms of making the conference stronger...
September 19, 201115 yr I like WVU to SEC. Could be a rival for UK. Maybe they can compete with them.
